“All right.” I know she’ll be zonked out by the middle of the second. I just hope I’m not, too.
Luckily, just as I’m about to doze off after I hear her breathing even out toward the end of the first book, my phone buzzes in my pocket alerting me of a text. I slip out of Emmy’s bed and make my way to my bedroom, figuring that I’ll be hearing back from Sadie.
But it’s not Sadie.
Justin:Got Myron all caught up to keep watch over the store. I’ll be leaving first thing in the morning for your place. I know it’s last minute, hope that’s okay.
Oh, shit. Tomorrow? Not that it matters but I should probably make my parents aware that he’s coming.
Me:That works for us.I’ll send you the address. You’ll be rolling in around noon then?
Justin:Should be. I have everything set so I can be there a week.
Me:Perfect. I’ll put you to work.
Justin:Good. I’m getting fluffy here working inside all day. Ready for some fresh air.
Me:That I can give you.
Justin:Gonna introduce me to your girl?
I grin.
Me:Yup.
Justin:So she’s your girl?
Me:Yup.
Justin:Cool.
Me:Call me when you get close.
Justin:Will do.
Pocketing my phone, I go to my bathroom and brush my teeth then let Bandit out one more time before letting him into Emmy’s room where he’s been sleeping at night, leaving the door cracked open just a bit in case he needs out.
My phone buzzes in my pocket and I let out a sigh of relief when I see it’s Sadie.
Sadie:Sorry! The day was crazy and got away from me.
Me:Everything okay?
Sadie:Such a long story. I can’t even. Let’s talk about it tomorrow, that okay?
Me:As long as you’re all right.
Sadie:I am. <3
Me:Before I forget to tell you. Justin is coming in tomorrow. Last minute. He wants to meet you.
Sadie:Eek.Should I be nervous?
I let out a quiet laugh before typing.
Me:Nope. He’s harmless.
Sadie:**wipes brow Phew. That’s a relief.
