Page 97 of I'm Yours

I unlock the back door to the studio and flip on the lights. Class doesn’t start for an hour but I have a few things to take care of in the office.

I yelp when music starts filtering through the speakers in the pole room and back track. The familiar tune makes me giggle, covering my mouth with the tips of my fingers.

And then my eyes widen.

Reed is standing in the middle of the room. I guess standing isn’t the correct term because he’s currently working the pole like a freaking pro.

But where he really shines?

When he spins around and smoothly flips around his signature black cap, grinding his hips in a move that has my jaw dropping. I’m not sure but I think he’s been training with the men ofMagic Mike. He whips his shirt off and tosses it in my direction and I lift it to my nose, inhaling deeply and moaning.

He moves perfectly to the sexy sounds of Ginuwine’s “Pony”, spinning around and slinking his way over to me, taking me by the waist and thrusting his hips against me. I’m not about to let him have all the fun, so I join in, draping an arm over his shoulder and giving him a show of my own. He grins and lets me play but it’s clear he has other plans.

Reed spins out of my reach and shakes his head, lifting a finger and waggles it back and forth. I bite my lip because daaaammnn it’s sexy as sin.

The song comes to an end but filters right into a new song. This time it’s “Greatest Love Story” byLANCO. And instead of doing a sexy dance for me, Reed’s strutting over to me with a heart stopping smile.

“Sadie, Sadie, Sadie,” he whispers. “You knocked my world off its axis when I was fourteen. I took one look at you and knew one day you’d be my wife. Things didn’t go exactly as we’d planned but I think our love story turned out exactly how it was supposed to. It brought us back together at the perfect time.”

Tears are streaming down my cheeks and he lifts a hand, wiping them away from my cheek. “Don’t cry. This is the good stuff.”

“Good tears.”

He leans over, kissing me on the lips and rests his forehead against mine, taking in a deep breath. “I didn’t know if we’d ever make it back here and for a while, I felt guilty for still wanting that with you.”

“You and your guilt,” I murmur.

“No more, though. We belong together, always have, always will.” He slowly drops to one knee and my smile stretches across my cheeks. “I love you, Sadie. Be my wife. Marry me.”

“Are you asking or telling?”

He chuckles. “Not really taking no for an answer here.”

“Good thing my answer is yes then, huh?”

He whoops and stands up, lifting me in his arms and slamming his lips onto mine. My legs are dangling between us, my arms wrapped around his neck and his forearms holding me by my butt. Kissing Reed will never get old. “Ready to wear this the rest of your life?” he asks, setting me back on my feet and lifting a ring between us.

I nod, not trusting my voice, and present him with my hand. He slides the ring on my finger and I gasp. It’s so gorgeous, I stare at it in wonder. A large round cut stone sits in the center surrounded by two rows of smaller diamonds.

“Reed,” I breathe his name, not being able to stop looking at it.

“I did okay?”

“More than okay.”

“Phew. We were worried.”

I sniff and wipe some of the tears from my eyes. “We?”

“Emmy. She helped me pick it out.” That makes me cry even harder. Oh, man, he’s killing me.

“I love her so much, Reed.”

“Good thing,” he kids.

“Daddy? Can I come out yet?” I hear Emmy shout from wherever she’s hiding.

“Oh my gosh. Reed! She’s here?” I’m mortified. Surely he wouldn’t let her watch.
