“Did you hear what I said?” She prods one of my booted feet with the toe of her own shoe. “I love you, Sorin. And I want to marry you… or what do you call it? Mate? I want to Mate you, Sorin. If you’ll have me.”

Roan shoves my shoulder. “Did you hear?” he hisses. “Scudding fek, Sorin, say something before she changes her mind.”

“Oh, I’m not going to change my mind. I’ve been thinking and thinking about almost nothing else for the past fourteen days. So when I say I want to stay here, I really, really mean it.”

“You said you wanted to murder John Smith when you did not really mean it,” Killan mutters.

Briar ignores him. “Sorin?” She takes one of my hands in both of hers. She is trembling, her palms hot and damp.

I open my mouth, but no sound comes out. How can I find the words to describe all that I am feeling? My awe. My gratitude. My deep-seated hunger. When I look at Briar, I see my future, and it is a future I never before allowed myself to imagine. She is beyond my wildest dreams.

She is my everything.

“You want her to be happy,” Killan says, breaking the awkward silence echoing around my kitchen and sounding distinctly unimpressed. “She wants you to be happy. Congratulations. Now, can we get back to the matter at hand, before John Smith manages to complete his escape attempt.” And he grabs hold of our … prisoner? Director? Director-slash-prisoner? Before John Smith has made it halfway across the kitchen.

“His ship is outside,” Briar tells Killan, speaking over my shoulder. “So is Chloe.” She pretends to gag when she says the other Female’s name.

There are bruises on her fingers, I realize. And on her wrists. Physical proof, if any was needed, of how hard she fought to remain here with me.

“We will take them back to the main house,” Killan announces, “and then we will tell the other Females what has happened.”

“You know, Lydia might not be so mad at you if you stopped calling herfemaleall the time.” Briar calls to Killan’s back as he hauls John Smith up the ladder. If he hears her, he does not respond. Roan gives me one last glare, then follows our older brother.

For a moment, the sound of wind is almost deafening, and then the front door closes behind them. Almost tripping over my own feet, I pull the trap door closed, blocking out the rest of the world so that it is only Briar and me.

“So, about what I said a few minutes ago—” she begins.

“I love you.” The words tumble out of my mouth so fast they are almost indistinguishable from each other. Taking a deep breath, I attempt a slower version. “I love you, Briar. If you are absolutely sure staying here with me?—”

“Absolutely,” she interrupts, as she climbs onto the chair. Standing, she is finally taller than me, and she wraps her arms around my neck. “Abso-fucking-lutely.”

Chapter Thirty

Briar

Isink into our kiss. Sorin’s such a fast learner. We kiss with abandon. We kiss with passion. We kiss with love, until I’m practically resting my full weight on him, and he’s stroking his four hands over my body, squeezing my ass, kneading my fleshy hips, rolling my nipples between two fingers. Until I’m grinding my hips against his stomach, desperate for friction, positive I could come just like this. Just from being touched and loved and…Worshippedis the only word to describe what Sorin’s doing. Sending butterflies stampeding through my stomach. Sending my heart racing like a high-powered steam train.

I force my knees back into action long enough that I can straighten to remove my outer clothes, tossing them to the floor. Then I’m reaching for Sorin again.

Sorin who’s staring at… “Oh, yeah. I forgot I’d put that on.” I glance down at the bra that isn’t really a bra, the one with no fabric where the cups should be. It isn't super uncomfortable, in a I’m-prepared-to-wear-this-for-the-love-of-my-life sort of way.And I wouldn’t really recommend it as the bra to wear when you’re fighting against your own alien abduction.

“I thought it would be funny, wearing it during my interview with Chloe. A dirty little secret nobody but you and I would know about.”

“I—” He stumbles over his words, clearing his throat. “I?—”

“Very eloquent,” I agree with a laugh, relishing the fact I still have the ability to turn him speechless. “Do you want to know something?” I ask, trying hard not to grin and failing. “The cameras are still off,” I glance at the closest GoPro, double checking that the red light still isn’t on. It feels strange not being recorded. Not having to sneak around. Not having to keep our hands to ourselves for fear of being the subjects of our own pornography production. “To the bedroom.” I jump, wrapping my legs around his waist, and point toward the closed door.

Sorin easily holds my weight, carrying me across the room. He even has a free hand to open the door, and then he’s laying me on the bed with such gentle caring that warmth spreads through my veins.

I swear every minute I’m with this man I fall more deeply in love with him. And now that I’ve made my decision to stay, I’ve got no reason to keep holding back. This moment is quite literally the beginning of our happily ever after.

Sure, there are still a few loose ends that need our attention—like determining how we’re going to ensure Mr. Smith really does take Lydia safely home. Like finding out who Mr. Smith’s boss is and who owns the company producing LOVE GALAXY. If they think I’m not going to make a fuss about being abducted because I’ve fallen in love and have opted to stay on Ril II, they’re delulu.

Oh, and I’ll need to hear the words straight from Harlee’s own mouth before I’m a hundred percent convinced she, too, wants to stay.

But all that can be left until tomorrow for Future Briar to deal with.

Briar right here and now is too focused on releasing Sorin’s cock, with every intention of making this a night to remember.
