After I changed, I went back into the living room and waited for Adele. She came out a few minutes later wearing a black dress with large sunflowers all over it. “You look pretty,” I commented.
She smiled. “Thank you. Even though it’s casual, I still wanted to look cute for our first dinner together.” Her eyes went wide, and she stammered, “I mean the first dinner on the cruise together. Not like a date or anything.”
She was adorable when she was embarrassed, and I stifled a laugh. “Of course.”
We headed to the main restaurant for dinner. We were a few minutes early for our scheduled dinnertime, so we had to wait before being seated.
Once we were seated at our table, Adele looked around. “This is so classy. I mainly read about the buffet, and I was worried about the quality, so this is a nice surprise.”
“The buffet is supposed to be pretty good too. This is one of the higher-end cruise lines.”
Adele beamed. “I feel like I’m rich and famous. These accommodations are unreal.”
The waiter came and poured some water into our glasses, then handed us the menu for the night.
I watched as Adele scanned the menu, pursing her lips to the side in the process. “I’m not sure if I’d rather have the beef carpaccio or the salmon roulade as my first course.”
“You can have both if you’d like, madam,” our waiter, Pierre, stated.
Adele raised her brows. “Really? Is it extra?”
Pierre chuckled. “The only thing extra is alcohol. The food in this dining room is all included and unlimited.”
“Wow,” Adele replied, blinking several times in disbelief. “Okay. Well, I guess I’ll have both then.”
I smiled. “I’ll have both, as well.”
After Pierre left, Adele asked, “Am I dreaming?”
I laughed. “No.”
“Well, I feel like I am. This is unreal.”
I smiled. “And it’s only just begun.”
When Pierre brought our appetizers, he took our order for the salad and main course. Adele ordered a baby spinach salad and Mediterranean chicken pasta while I chose the seafood soup and rack of lamb.
As we ate our first course, I decided I wanted to know more about the blonde beauty across from me. Not to mention, I loved hearing her accent, so the more I got her to talk, the better. “What’s your favorite color?”
She arched a brow. “That’s random. Turquoise.”
“Favorite band?” I continued.
“Pink Floyd.”
Great choice.“Favorite movie?”
She chuckled. “Sixteen Candles.”
Cara loved that movie. She was a huge Molly Ringwald fan. I couldn’t remember how many times she forced me to watch all those 80s chick flicks.
“Favorite dessert?”
Adele crossed her arms over her chest. “Do I get to ask any questions?”
As long as they weren’t personal, I’d answer anything she wanted. “Well, technically, you did the first night we met, but go ahead, sweetheart.”
She tapped her chin in thought. “What’s your favorite song?”
