I looked back at my brother and smiled. “Chance, this is his restaurant. He bought it and moved out here to prove his commitment to me.”

“What?” My brother’s eyes darted back and forth between Cohen and me.

“It’s true,” Cohen stated. “I love your sister. I’d do anything for her, and I’m going to do whatever I can to make it up to her, even if it takes the rest of my life.”

I released my brother, and he eyed Cohen up and down before crossing his arms over his chest. “I guess that’s a start.”

I snorted, smacking my brother in the arm. “Chance!”

“What?” He shrugged. “He has a lot to make up for to be worthy of you.”

I shook my head, fighting a smile. “Completely uprooting his life and moving hundreds of miles isn’t enough?”

Chance smirked. “Not for my sister.” He put an arm around Cohen. “How about a drink at the bar, mate? You can try to convince me that you’re good enough for Adele.”

Cohen grinned as our eyes met, walking with my brother. I rolled my eyes with a laugh as I followed them, still not quite sure that I wasn’t dreaming.

Epilogue

Two Years Later

“Ican’t believe we’re checking off the last thing on Cara’s list,” I said.

“I know. It doesn’t feel real.” Cohen stared down at the paper in his hands. His brows were furrowed and his body a little tense.

I rubbed his back. “You okay?”

He glanced up at me and smiled softly. “Yeah. Surprisingly I am.”

The last thing on the list for us to complete was to see the northern lights. We’d already done everything else in the two years since the cruise.

Cohen had planned us a trip to Finland to view the phenomenon for the New Year’s Eve holiday. He’d booked us three nights in a heated glass igloo with a private sauna at a Finnish resort situated on a beautiful lake.

“I’m so glad this igloo is heated. I’m not used to this cold weather,” I commented, snuggling up next to him and resting my head on his shoulder. “I hope we see the lights tonight.”

We had read that the northern lights weren’t always visible and could only be seen on clear, dark nights. I hoped we saw them at least once during our trip so we could complete Cara’s list.

“Me too,” Cohen said, nuzzling his cheek against my head. “Are you excited about tomorrow?”

I grinned. “Yes. I can’t believe we get to go husky sledding!”

“Don’t forget the romantic New Year’s Eve dinner and fireworks show,” he added.

My stomach flip-flopped. Cohen always made me swoon, and I was so thankful he was mine.

Unfortunately, we didn’t see the aurora borealis on the first night. However, the next day more than made up for it.

Cohen and I were cuddled up in bed, staring up at the night sky through the glass panes of the igloo. “Today was amazing,” I commented, shifting to prop my chin on Cohen’s chest and look at him. “One of the best of my life.”

A smile curved up the corners of Cohen’s lips. “Oh, yeah?”

“Yeah. Husky sledding was everything I thought it would be and more. I mean, who doesn’t want to be tackled in the snow by a pack of playful huskies?”

Cohen chuckled. “I love you.”

“And dinner was outstanding, almost as good as your food.”

He looked down at me, then tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. “I like it when you stroke my ego,” he teased.
