I pulled her closer. "Would you like to do something else to clear your mind? I know a great activity that could release stress for both of us."
I could hear Riley chuckle under my arms, and as I leaned in to kiss her, I heard the sound of the doorbell. We both froze, and Riley leaned back, her face white.
"Oh god, That's your sister!"
"That is not my sister. There is no way she's arriving this early.
Riley shook her head, breaking away from me and quickly crawling around, trying to move away from me. "Oh god! She's going to smell it. Do you have anything to mask the scent?"
"Smell what?"
"The sex!" Riley was frantic as she crawled out from under the sheets. I took in her naked body and smirked. Riley had smooth skin, and her breasts sat perky as she moved.
"One, she isn't. She would have to come in here, and there is no reason for her to. And two, that's not my sister. So, come back to bed. Ignore who's at the door."
Riley grabbed her bathrobe, pulling it on. She tied it tightly as she turned to me. "Get out of bed, Cayden. That is your sister. Who else would knock at the door and…" She turned around, looking for her phone, and grabbed it off the bedside table. "Seven twenty. Jesus Christ. Who the fuck gets here that early."
"Exactly my point. We both know April, and she isn't a morning person. Now come back. Take the robe off and bring your naked ass back here."
"Get up," she growled back, hurrying out of the room.
I groaned but pulled myself out of bed and pulled on some pants. I yanked on a shirt and hurried after Riley. I walked over, finding her in the spare bedroom, pulling on clothes. Shewas frantic, not even putting on anything that matched. She pulled on some red shorts and a blue shirt.
"She's going to know," Riley said, running her hands through her hair, trying to flatten it out. It did little to help because her hair was still a mess.
"You're losing it," I said, leaning on the doorframe. "April is not going to know, and if she finds out, isn't that okay? She's going to have to find out anyway. If she gets mad, let her get mad, and we will get through it."
"Yeah, but I wanted us to tell her, not for her to know because we look like we spent the night fucking like savage animals." She turned, grabbing a brush and running it through her hair quickly.
I couldn't help but smirk. It was cute to see her worked up.
April hurried past me, and I followed. She unlocked the door turning the knob and pulled it open. Riley's entire body froze up, and not in a way I've seen before. Her eyes widened in horror, and I walked closer, looking past her to who she was looking at.
Standing in the doorway was my sister, with a knife pressed to her neck. A man stood behind her holding it, looking pissed. I quickly recognized him as Brad from the photos I had seen when I searched for him online.
He had blond hair that was combed, but it looked like he'd run his hands through it. His eyes looked off, almost like he hadn't slept, and his hands shook as he held the knife.
April looked terrified as she stared at us, tears building in her eyes.
"Oh my god!" Riley screamed.
I take a step closer, ready to beat the living shit out of him. The fucker not only messed with Riley, but if he put one more goddamn finger on my little sister, I was going to rip his fucking throat out.
"Not a move," Brad snarled, pulling the knife closer to April's throat. "Move, and she's dead. I'm not in the mood."
I stared at my sister, whose eyes quickly went to mine. I stayed completely still, curling my hands into fists. "What do you want?"
Brad smirked, his eyes going to Riley. "Her."
Chapter 25 - Riley
This had to be a bad dream, and any moment I was going to wake up still curled in Cayden's arms. I was just dreaming about this because I was worried. We hadn't found Brad, and this was logical to dream about. People had nightmares all the time. There was no way that Brad would go after April. April knew how to protect herself. She was smart.
But the longer I stared, the more I realized this wasn't a dream. This was real. Brad had April, and he was using her. How did he even get here? Wasn't he back in the pack moving on? Wasn't that what April had told me?
I couldn't breathe as I stared at April with the knife held to her throat. She looked so pale as Brad pushed her into the apartment, following himself with her. He kicked the door shut, his eyes flickering to me and then to Cayden.
"No one moves," Brad growled.
