“Fuck,” he moaned, biting into the mark on my shoulder.

“That’s the idea,” I said.

My hands hit the wall to brace me as he pushed me forward, caging me in with his strength. Slowly, I turned to face him, to find he was barely in control. His eyes were glowing that amber that made me weak at the knees, and his chest was heaving.

I wrapped my arms around his neck.

“Levi,” I sighed against his mouth.

One word and he sprang into action, his hands lifting me under my ass even as his cock drove deep into my core. My mouth fell open and my head hit the wall. Levi’s forehead pressed to mine, his eyes watching my every reaction. My knees locked into position at his waist and my claws dug deep into his shoulders in ownership.

None of those glamourous wolves could have him because he was mine.

Our bodies moved seamlessly together as if we’d never been apart, his hips bruising against mine as he ploughed into me over and over again.

That golden energy that appeared in the swamp when we were being chased by hellspawn steadily built in my chest. Every thrust stoked the energy of it, every moan made it shine brighter. Levi’s lips found mine, consuming every noise as if they belonged to him alone.

The pressure in my stomach pulsed with need, until my toes curled. Unable to resist him anymore, I dug my fangs deep into Levi’s neck. His blood was the final ingredient in my explosive orgasm. I clung to him as he surged deep, his heat flooding me.

The golden light exploded from my chest into Levi and he gasped. His eyes flashed golden as his canines descended. I felt his emotions throbbing inside me even as our bodies wrapped around each other tighter. The sound of his wolf snarled in my head, his husky voice chantingmineover and over again.

Whatever that golden light was had changed something in both of us because our connection was clearer and louder than ever before. His emotions became mine and I was sure mine were zinging about in him.

This was a complication neither of needed right now since war was on our doorstep. Whatever had transpired tonight had bound Levi and I tighter together, my gifts expanding to infuse into him. That golden energy undulated deep in his sacral chakra. I had no idea what to say or do, so I clung tighter to him.

The master hellspawn was attracted to whatever it was that dwelt inside me. I’d just infected Levi with it and painted a huge target on him in the process. Terror pulsed deep inside me at the gaping unknown that opened in front of us.

“Castus is in your office,” Radar said, watching Levi warily from the doorway of our bedroom.

“What the fuck is he doing here?” Levi snarled.

“You knew Castus would return to the castle eventually,” I said in a low voice. “He was always going to summon his vampires back.” I sat in the bucket seat beside the window with my legs tucked under me.

Levi trailed his fingers through his hair. “We don’t need this right now.”

Radar backed out of the room with an apologetic glance in my direction.

My nerves prickled an anxious tingle as I stared at Levi while he paced around the bedroom with his jeans riding low on his hips. His jaw and shoulders were tight, his posture saying what his lips wouldn’t. He stalked about like the apex predator he was, hunting for a prey to pounce on. A shiver trickled down my spine at the image of him attacking.

“No!” He spun around, his eyes blazing gold instead of the duller amber that used to be there. “He can take whatever vamps he wants, but there is no way he’s touching you.”

“Levi,” I said, standing and moving to him. He tensed when I slipped my arms around his waist and placed my head against his heart. He finally relaxed and hugged me back.

“Don’t even think about it, Tasha,” he said into my hair. “I changed the world so we could be together. There is no way that I’m handing you back to that pervert.”

I knew my mum and sister were safe, since Levi had let me speak to them on the phone, but he never told me where they were. Their lives depended on no one knowing their location. He’d received regular updates on them, every one of them filling him with rage as he learned the full extent of what Castus had put them through.

“Dean said Castus was coming here under the terms of the treaty,” I replied.

Levi’s low growl showed what he thought about that.

“You know he’ll recognise you from my memories of that summer and Kimber’s artwork.” I traced a pattern at the bottom of his back with my finger.

Levi’s hand gripped my chin, forcing my head back in a show of pure dominance that made my knees weak. “I don’t give a fuck. He touches you, and the treaty is off, and he’s a dead vamp.”
