“Flynn,” Charlotte moaned, her pelvis tilting up to my hand.

A noise in the hallway made me break away, turning to cover Charlotte with my back. Both our breathing was heavy and I could have kicked myself for allowing this to happen. Pixie wandered into the workshop. I had forgotten that Charlotte had brought her to work since we were going past her house on the way home.

I narrowed my eyes at the furry tyrant.

“Did you just get cock blocked by my pussy?” Her lips twitched.

I leaned over her and her eyes widened at the gesture. “Yourpussy got pussy blocked by that demon over there.”

She sucked her bottom lip into her mouth. Her hands slid under my shirt to land on my stomach. “I’m sure Pixie is very sorry for interrupting you.”

“I’m sure she is,” I replied. “I’m sure she is really upset that you’ve been deprived of an orgasm.”

Charlotte pouted and she looked really damn cute standing there with a smear of oil across her cheek. She had the expression on her face that men dreaded. It said she knew that she owned my balls and knew exactly how to tug them to her will.

Fuck my life, never mind being pussy blocked, I was fucking pussy-whipped.

“Need me to apologise on her behalf?” I swear she batted those eyelashes at me and my dick responded to the command. I had always prided myself that I was in charge of my emotions and actions.

Charlotte turned them all upside down, and left me a mess inside.

Her presence made me tear up all the rules just to be with her.

No one had ever slept in my bed because I tended to fuck and run. My house was a sacred area that no one else in my life had been granted access to. Even my geese adored her, and were starting to accept Pixie. Charlotte had invaded my home. The man who created a life without attachments wanted to run, but she enriched my existence in a way I hadn’t anticipated.

“How’s the refurbishments going?” I asked to stop myself from bending her over the car and sinking deep inside her.

“The business partners have been very generous,” she replied, walking over toward the car and waving me to follow her. “I never imagined being allowed to work with Cosworth to have an engine created to my specifications.”

“Jordan was pretty damn smug about that,” I confessed. “He’s been bragging about it.” What I didn’t say was that it was me who pulled that surprise out of the bag. I’d met one of their chief designers a few years ago and he owed me a favour.

“Their engines are coveted, but actually allowing someone to input into the design.” She paused, and excitement flashed in her eyes. “That’s the stuff you tell your grandkids about.”

She needed something to chase the ghosts from her eyes that appeared after those men died in her home a week ago. “You’d need to have kids first,” I pointed out.

“Why?” She stared up at me. “I’m sure you can adopt a grandchild or two.”

I’d gotten used to her teasing and the fact that she rarely took anything seriously unless it had to do with cars and engines. I stuck my head under the bonnet to see what had changed in my car the past few days since I’d last been here.

“Don’t mind me!” Joshua almost shouted before walking into the garage. “I forgot my ear pods.”

I straightened up from being under the bonnet and he stopped and observed us for a moment. “You’re working on the car.”

“Is that not what we do here?” I asked.

“I suppose.” Joshua appeared decidedly uncomfortable, his foot scuffing the ground as he looked anywhere but at us.

“Fuck off, Joshua. This is a professional garage.” I’d known him long enough to see where his head was going. “Do you want to give Charlotte a lift home tonight since we don’t want her using her car? Or would you rather we send her to her house alone to get some extra clothes until all this shit is dealt with?”

I was being a dick, but it hammered home just how close we’d been to being caught. Only Pixie had decided to knock something over in the hallway, I would have been balls deep right now with her legs over my shoulders.

“I’m heading home.” He held the ear pods up as he left.

Charlotte’s gaze bored into my back but I refused to look at her. We both knew we’d gotten lucky earlier. Her hand landed on the base of my spine.

“He didn’t see anything,” she said.

“We both know he would have if Pixie hadn’t intervened.”
