It went quiet for a while before Kit piped up. “What if Dad’s okay with it?”

Cash barked a laugh. “And what if a flying pig decided to glide around the clubhouse?”

Kennedy sent me a sad smile. “I’ll miss you.”

I rubbed her arm. “I’ll miss you too, but we’re not emigrating. We’ll be able to visit and I’m hoping to God you’ll all visit us wherever we end up.”

“I think you should look for work in Hawaii,” Cara suggested. “I’ll visit every weekend.”

I laughed. “As much as I like the sun, I love the seasons.”

“You’re all actin’ like it’s gonna be all doom and gloom,” Cash remarked. “But you’re forgettin’ somethin’.”

We all looked at my brother expectantly.

“Dad’s steppin’ down next year. Who’s gonna be Prez then?” He waggled his eyebrows. “It’ll be my club and my rules. Dad may kick you out, but I won’t. When I’m Prez you’ll always be welcome. Build on Freya’s plot so you’ve gotta home here. Come for the holidays, hell, come whenever you like. I’ll never turn you away.”

Colt squeezed my hand. “Thanks, brother,” he said before turning to me. “Pick out furnishings for your house. I’ve got all the measurements. We’ll get it sorted.”

A weight I never realized had settled on my shoulders suddenly lifted, making me feel twenty pounds lighter. I looked up at Colt. “Can I?”

He slid his arm across my shoulders. “Get whatever you like, baby.”

Cara jerked a thumb toward him. “See,” she muttered to Cash. “Colt gets it. Happy wife, happy life.”

Cash looked up and heaved a breath. “Colt’s got more money than he knows what to do with, Wildcat. I haven’t.”

She stared at me, pursing her lips. “He thinks I don’t know about his top-secret savings account.”

Cash tensed.

Cara smirked. “If you don’t want me knowing about your shit, don’t leave your statements lying around for me to come across.”

My eldest brother sighed exasperatedly.

I looked around the room to see it was almost empty. It had been a great party. Everyone enjoyed themselves. My heart jolted when I realized it had been a perfect goodbye. I’d always remember this night and all the love and sense of family.

I brought my hand up to cover a yawn. “I think I’m gonna turn in.” I glanced at Colt and smiled sadly. “We’ve got a big day tomorrow.”

He nodded. “We’ll go to my room for a chat. Sort out what were gonna do.”

“What time you goin’ to see Dad?” Breaker asked.

Colt shrugged more nonchalantly than he probably felt. “As soon as he’s in. I can’t see him bein’ up and about early though.”

“How ‘bout we all meet in here at ten?” Cash suggested, turning to Kit. “That way we can go in the office with him. Have his back.”

“I’ll be here,” Kit confirmed.

Cara leaned her head on my brother’s shoulder. “I knew there was a reason I loved you.”

Cash grinned. “Let’s not get it twisted. You love me for my big, fat cock. Doncha, Wildcat?”

Chuckles rose up as Cara slapped Cash hard across his chest. “Asshole.”

He grabbed her and planted a long hard kiss on her lips.

Kit stood, gathered Kennedy in his arms, picking her up bridal style. “Come on, Kitten. Let’s go fuck the new year in.”
