“How sweet,” Hunter quipped. “A little afternoon delight?”
Mason flipped him off before taking a jump shot, the ball neatly gliding into the net. Hell. Hadn’t he just been here with his buddies the other night for a game before a round of beers? It was amazing how quickly things had changed in a matter of days.
The played for another hour, Hunter besting Mason in a game of one-on-one.
“All right, I’ll catch you later,” Mason finally said, grabbing the ball as it rolled back toward him. “I need to shower and change before I head back to Taylor’s place to pick her up.”
“Enjoy your date, lover boy.”
“I plan to,” Mason said with a smirk. “But don’t worry, I’ll spare you all the details.”

Taylor opened the door an hour later, her entire face lighting up as Mason grinned at her. She had on a sundress and strappy little sandals and clutched a lightweight sweater in one hand.
“Is this okay?” she asked nervously. “You said dress for the outdoors, but I wasn’t sure if I needed to be more casual.”
“It’s perfect,” Mason said appreciatively. “You look gorgeous.”
And she did. The floral sundress was pretty and feminine, and the fabric in the front criss-crossed over her chest. It wasn’t mean to be revealing, but the overall look was sexy as hell. It was like her breasts had been wrapped up in a pretty little package just for him to admire.
The dress was slightly loose, falling to mid-thigh, and Mason felt his groin tighten as Taylor turned to grab her purse.
The delicate fabric dancing over her silky thighs was going to be the death of him.
He’d felt all her soft skin this morning. Parted her legs and touched her silken folds. He’d thought of nothing else but running his hands all over her beautiful body ever since.
Touching her. Teasing her. Watching her reactions as he explored all of her gorgeous curves.
And now to have her wearing a sexy little dress that teased and tempted him?
It was going to be a long afternoon.
She pulled the door shut and locked it, soft curls bouncing around her face. She must’ve done something to her hair because usually it was long and straight. Normally he didn’t care much about hair or make-up, thinking it made a woman look overly done, like she was trying too hard.
But on Taylor?
She looked even softer and more feminine.
Not to mention sexy as sin.
“I thought we’d have a picnic down on the quiet end of the beach,” he said as they walked down her stairwell. “Sound okay?”
“That sounds perfect.”
“I already packed a picnic blanket and food. I like the idea of us having an afternoon alone together, but the next time we have a bonfire on the beach with my friends, I want to bring you, too.”
“You guys have bonfires?”
He nodded, unlocking the door to his SUV. His hands wrapped around her slender waist as he helped her climb in, and he resisted the urge to groan. She smelled amazing—her usual combination of sunshine and coconut, plus an underlying floral scent. Was it a new perfume or something?
His cock hardened as he imagined stripping her down, discovering the source of that intoxicating aroma. Hell if he couldn’t spend hours exploring her body.
He helped her fasten the seatbelt, his large hand briefly resting on her bare thigh. Her skin was so soft and smooth compared to his, he resisted the urge to run his hand up and down it.
“The other SEAL team on base gets together a lot, and we started joining them sometimes. I’d love to bring you along and introduce you to the others. You’ve met the guys on my team, but the Alpha SEAL team is all married or attached. You’d like the other women.”
She nodded, looking slightly nervous.
