I bit off half of a sardine sliding it into his lips. He sucked my finger in and released it with a pop and the fire between my legs super charged.

Knoxe groaned and rubbed his stomach. “That’s up there. But I’ll go with a holiday to Thailand with a seafood dinner on the beach.”

“Awww.” I rubbed at my heart. “Now I’m tempted to change my mind!”

I looked to Pascal, who always took up the rear. I plucked him a small fish and traced his lips with it. He had such sexy, pouty lips, his bottom lip larger than his top. We still weren’t at the sharing food stage even though we kissed. One of his little quirks that I respected. He accepted the treat and drew it into his mouth. He copied Knoxe and licked some of the oil from my fingertips, and I loved that he made such headway with going outside his comfort zone.

Pascal’s hand on my thigh slid up and down my pants. “I’d like to get dressed up and take my girl to watch a symphony or ballet production.”

“Awww. My sweet, man.” I gripped the end of his fingers and squeezed. “I can see how important I am to you two.” I pointed a finger at Knoxe and Tor. “None of you had me in your hypothetical first things scenario.”

“I’ll be feeding you ice cream, Supergal.” Tor tried to win back points.

“You’ll be on the beach towel beside me.” Knoxe patted his lap as if we were already lounging on the beach.

I snorted at them both. “You’re still both in trouble.”

Knoxe tried to regain ground with, “Tor will be there, Raze, and Pascal too. Tor fanning us with palm leaves.”

Tor scoff-laughed. “Fan yourself! I’m not getting sand in my wheels or rust on the exoskeleton!”

We all laughed except for Pascal, who tucked his head. Jokes about Tor’s state made the dark guilt brew inside Pascal.

Tor tried to ease Pascal’s frown. “P-Man’s massaging my shoulders and Raze is pouring us Pina Coladas.”

I giggled, happy that he never lost his sense of humor, and I clung to it, needing it like a life jacket when I missed Raze so much I felt like I drowned. We weren’t allowed to communicate for his safety and to avoid me earning more years on my sentence. My heart split into more pieces.

Knoxe sensed my change in mood, his arm banding tighter around me. Although he had me wrapped in his body, his scent, his protection, I could barely breathe at the ache in my chest.

He stroked my face and neck. “We’ll see him soon, Sunset.” His resolute whisper warmed the deepest parts of me.

I held onto his determination as mine slipped through my fingers like sand. Sure, we had a lead with the prisoners, and made headway in the investigation, but I got depressed at the sheer number of runaways to recover. Thirty-nine. So many. Arresting every one of them could take us years. What if Vancor changed his mind and rescinded his promise to release us for our loyalty?

When would I ever see Raze again? Not for another five months until the team and I recovered our forfeited monthly family visit passes. I had to work him in around my mom and sister.

Fuck. Then there was the issue of Dad resurfacing in my life. Would he join me too in visiting Mom and Jenny? God. I didn’t want to think about the chaos of that.

Knoxe tossed a rock onto Tor’s lap. “Who’s release fantasy is this? Hijack it, why don’t you?”

Tor grinned. “You invited me.”

“Pascal’s massaging me!” I got in.

“Who’s massaging me?” Pascal finally threw in, casting off some of his earlier regret.

“I will.” Knoxe raised a questioning eyebrow. “If you want me to.”

Pascal met his gaze for a few seconds. “Will you touch my cock?”

The fire in my loins really cranked up at that.

Tor nudged Knoxe with his elbow. “Pascal’s massage gets a happy ending!”

I snorted hard and rolled back, bracing against Knoxe for leverage to stay upright.

“Good. It’s a deal, then.” Pascal and Knoxe shook on it.

Tingles glittered through my chest that Pascal felt more comfortable coming out of his shell and making a joke. When I first met him, he didn’t seem the type. I wasn’t sure if it was because he was so strait-laced or because of shyness. Whatever it was, it was cute, and I fricken loved it.
