Thankfully, Belle doesn’t have a long labor and our daughter arrives not long after we arrive at the hospital.
I hold my beautiful wife’s hand as she delivers our daughter into the world. I’m so proud of her. And so damn grateful for all the beauty she’s brought into my life.
My daughter starts to holler. Announcing her arrival to the world, and I can’t keep the smile off my face.
When they place her on her mother’s chest, she stops crying and looks at me with deep blue eyes.
“I’m so proud of you,” I say, pressing a kiss to Belle’s forehead.
“She’s perfect, isn’t she?”
“More perfect than anything in the world.”
Belle smiles up at me. “Do you want to hold her?”
“I’ve never held anything so small.”
“Then today is your lucky day, bike gangster.”
The nurse scoops my daughter up and wraps her tiny body in a blanket before placing her in my arms.
Tears make my vision blurry as I look down at her.
There are so many things I want to say but I am too choked to say them.
She’s fucking perfect.
I can’t stop looking at her.
She is so tiny in my arms. Sweet and pure.
I bend my neck to kiss her delicate skin, and I feel a love so pure and true. A love I know I am going to fiercely protect for the rest of my life.
