Her head is resting back and her eyes are closed.

My head screams for me to leave. I’ve seen her; I can back away now and go home knowing that she’s okay.

But I can’t move.

I’m rooted to the spot.

Effie continues singing, and my heart continues to race, my need for her getting stronger and stronger.

My hands begin to tremble, before it spreads through the rest of my body.

Unfiltered, potent need.

Unable to turn back, I shove the door wider, letting it crash into the wall, and I step into the bathroom to announce my presence.

EFFIE

Ashadow falls over me, and my heart jumps into my throat as fear floods though my veins.

My lips part, ready to scream as my eyes pop open.

But before I can register what—or who—is standing over me, a large, hot hand covers my mouth, cutting off any noise I was about to make.

“Be a good girl, Luck.”

The panic surging through my body stops me from recognizing the words. But my body knows.

My muscles relax, aware that I’m not in any immediate danger. Well, my body might not be. My heart is another matter entirely.

I stare at him with wide eyes, silently begging for him to explain himself.

“Look at you,” he muses, letting his gaze shift from mine in favor of my body.

He probably can’t see much, considering the amount of bubble bath I poured into the water, but it doesn’t seem to matter.

His eyes darken with desire, and he drags his bottom lip between his teeth.

Despite knowing better, a steady throb starts up between my thighs.

I miss you.

When his attention hits my closed legs, he swallows thickly.

“Spread your thighs,” he demands.

The rational voice in my head screams at me not to do it.

But my body is on an entirely different page, and without instruction from my brain, my legs fall open.

Kieran swallows again, making the tendons in his throat pull and ripple.

My eyes drop lower, and I frown when I find his clothes soaking and sticking to his hard body.

My mouth waters as I burn up, my blood rushing like lava through my veins.

“Fuck,” he rasps before our eyes collide again.
