“You and me both, brother. Holy shit!” This was damn good news. That meant they’d have someone planted inside the outlaw MC. Cameras and wire taps only went so far. “When?”
“He said as soon as possible. But as you know, it’s not like they keep a schedule or anything. They do shit when they do shit.”
“Did his offer seem suspicious?”
“No. My guess is he’s thinking about numbers. Patching me over means one more member in his pocket and one less for the Angels, in case they get a hair up their ass and try to hone in on the DAMC’s territory. Plus, I’ve been doing business with them long enough now that they trust me. Well, at least as much as they’d trust anyone.”
“Well, Christ, they should since it’s been over a fucking year.”
“Yeah, no shit. I really didn’t want to be in this assignment this long. The only reason I’ve lasted is because of Nova. You better get down on your hands and knees and kiss her feet in gratitude.”
“What we’ll do for pussy, right?”
“Yo,” Fletch growled.
“You know what I mean.”
“So, now what?” Fletch sighed. “Patching over changes everything. That means Nova and I have to move out of the apartment over the DAMC’s pawn shop. It also means we won’t be working for them in their businesses anymore.”
“Well, I’m guessing the Demons will have you dealing meth to make money but only for them instead of yourself.”
“Yeah. They think I have connections on the street, even though in reality the drugs I buy from them get documented and destroyed.”
Shit.Cabrera was living in Fletch’s house. With Wilder and him patching over to the Demons, it could cause an unexpected ripple effect. “You don’t want to move back into your house, right?”
“Fuck no. I don’t want those fucknuts knowing where I live. I think we need to find a rental somewhere. Can you arrange that?”
“Where?”
“Since I’ll be part of the Uniontown chapter, anywhere near there? Close enough to be heavily involved in that chapter but far enough that we’ll have some privacy when we need it.”
That made sense. “Okay, I’ll get on that today and get it approved from the higher-ups. Shouldn’t be an issue, though, since we ended up paying rent for your current apartment. I’m thinking they’ll be thrilled you finally got your boot in the door with our targets.”
“No doubt. Hey…”
“What?”
“I’m thinking Viper also approved me patching over because there’s been increased talk of cutting out the Russos.”
They knew it was headed in that direction. “Yeah, we’re hearing whispers of that on our end, too. Those stupid fucks will be making a fatal mistake if they try to cut the Russos out of the equation.”
“Agreed. The Russos aren’t just going to give them a handshake and wish them good luck on their new venture.”
“While them fucking with La Cosa Nostra might solve our problem with the Demons, we’ll still need to monitor that situation closely.”
“That’s for damn sure,” Fletch agreed. “Even if the Russos wipe that MC out, you know they’ll just find new mules.”
That they would.
Fletch continued, “They’re not giving up all that meth money just because of some attempted coup by asshole bikers.”
“No shit. That wouldn’t be good business. Anyway, you definitely gave me a boner with this news. Though, you haven’t finished me off yet. My sock is still empty. Start whispering sweet nothings into my ear.”
“Sweet nothings,” Fletch whispered, then laughed. “That do it?”
Crew shook his head. “You suck at phone sex.”
“At least I don’t suck in general, like you.”
