They continued to kiss until they were both breathless, he was rock hard and she was wet.

But being naked on the floor meant condoms weren’t in reach, so they’d have to consummate the next step in their relationship once some were nearby. She made a mental note to schedule tests for both of them so they could have no barriers between them.

She had found her “forever man” when she hadn’t even been looking. She was going to take that as this was meant to be.

Once he broke the seal on their lip lock, he pressed a soft kiss on her forehead, before lifting his head. “By the way, I was right.”

“About?”

“You being a handful.”

“Why are women who take charge of their own life considered a handful? My parents raised us to be independent free thinkers and to stand up for ourselves.”

“I wouldn’t want you any other way. Honestly, I hope my kids grow up to be the same.”

“I know you’ll do your best to make sure they do.”

He sighed softly. “Sometimes my best isn’t good enough when other factors are involved.”

“You’re pretty damn stubborn. You’ll never give up. Especially when it comes to your kids.”

“And you,” he added.

“I can’t ask for anything more.”

“You can ask for a lot more.”

“Then I’ll make a list.”

“I’m not Santa.”

She plucked at his hair. “You keep graying like you are, you’ll look like him soon. But, hell, you’d be the hottest damn Santa I’ve ever seen. Especially when you’re eating my cookies by the Christmas tree.”

He slid down her naked body. “I don’t think I can wait until Christmas to taste test those cookies.”

She lifted her head as he dropped his between her thighs, asking, “What’s your favorite flavor?”

“It’s a spicy cookie called Camila.”

“Oh good. I have a fresh batch of those.”

“And they smell fucking delicious.” He dragged his tongue through her pussy. “Taste delicious, too.”

ChapterThirty-Four

“You can go in now, sir,”Williams’ executive assistant told him.

Crew got up from the uncomfortable chair where he’d had his ass planted for longer than he liked and, without knocking, opened the door to the supervising special agent’s office.

He had been summoned.

He figured it had to do with the task force and how they were going to wrap up the investigation. But as soon as he stepped through the doorway, Williams rose from his desk and jerked his chin toward one of the two chairs in front of it. “Have a seat. I’ll be right back.” Then he stepped through the door Crew just came through and closed it behind him.

What the hell?He already waited over forty minutes. Now he had to wait even longer?

His time was just as valuable as Williams’.

He ground his teeth after sitting alone in the office for five more minutes.
