“I didn’t get much sleep last night,” he lied.
Finn jerked his fist back and forth. “Too much porn last night?”
Cabrera’s head twisted toward him as she waited for his answer.
No, too many fantasies about the woman he’d watched bending over and carrying in boxes last night. He almost got caught eye-balling her, like the perv he was, several times.
And maybe too much porn.
“Maybe not enough,” Decker said. “You’d think jerking off to porn would make him fall asleep faster.”
It was best to ignore them. If he argued, they’d only ride his ass harder. Instead, he turned to the computer and began to analyze all the businesses the Demons had purchased in the last couple of years since partnering with the Russos. They targeted businesses that could be used as a way to sell drugs, a way to launder their drug money, or both.
The task force already had plenty of evidence of drug sales out of Pizza Town. The team had cameras installed at The Peach Pit and their Uniontown church, so those locations were covered.
Where could he set her up to do surveillance? Where did they still need to document the outlaw MC’s activities? What would keep her out of his hair?
As well as his thoughts?
He scrolled down through the list of Demon-owned businesses.
The car wash…
The laundromat…
Wait…
Either of those would work, even though both had been purchased strictly for washing their dirty money. Realistically, there wouldn’t be much activity there. One reason he didn’t have anyone on his team staking out those locations.
Plus, forensic accountants would be utilized to prove money laundering for the upcoming indictments.
But then there was…
“Hey, did those fuckle-chucks actually buy the Hawg Wild Saloon?” he called out.
Decker’s eyebrows pinned together. “You losing your memory, old man?”
Was he? “If they did, someone forgot to add it to the list. It’s not my damn memory that’s lacking.”
Even so, he wasn’t sure he wanted to put her in danger by putting her at that biker bar. If anything happened to her while on his watch…
He grimaced.
Yeah, it would be best to have her stake her ass out in front of something like the laundromat.
It would be boring, but boring was safe. Even better, it would get her out of The Plant.
His mouth curved into a smile.
“Brother,” Decker murmured at the next desk. “I’m not sure I like that smile.”
Cabrera probably wouldn’t, either.

She’d been sittingin this damn dark parking lot at a small strip mall for the past three nights. Of course, the only business open was Landry’s Laundry. A business the Demons bought over a year ago.
She had no idea why Crew had her sitting on it. Her gut told her it was unnecessary, and only busy work. He wanted her out of his hair and to give her an assignment that wasn’t risky.
