“That is an amazing way to start the day,” she laughs when I lift my head and smile. With her fingers combing through my hair I move in closer and press my lips to hers.

“Perfect way,” one I hope to relive again and again.

“Now I need to shower before I head to the shop.” I start to move, and she tightens her grip on my hair, holding me close.

“I thought you didn’t have any appointments until two.”

“I don’t,” I love this little bubble we are in right now, but unfortunately I know I am about to burst it. “But I do have to go clean the front of the shop with a power washer.”

Her brows furrow, “because?”

“Someone egged it last night,” her face distorts as her lips turn into a frown. “Oliver’s pissed and Zac said I should probably come clean it up. If Luna ends up out there, I’m probably coming home with a black eye because Oliver will be even more pissed.”

“Are you being serious right now?” I nod and slowly I can feel the bubble popping. Her earlier state of bliss is quickly replaced with irritation.

“Those bitches showed back up after we were all gone?”

Again I nod.

She throws the blankets to the side and climbs out of bed. Her lips pressed in a tight line. Walking toward the bathroom all I can focus on is the sway of her hips. Standing I begin to follow and she turns around and scowls at me.

“What?”

“No.” Stepping into the bathroom, she grabs the edge of the door. “Use the other bathroom, because right now all I want to do is yell at you for ever thinking it was a good idea to get involved with those bitches. I want to tell you how big of an ass you were and how you seriously would have stuck your dick in anything with tits but then I realize one, that whore from last night barely had tits. So that is contradicting and it reminds me that I don’t have the right to complain because you and I weren’t together and then that starts an entirely different cycle. One where I’m pissed all over again that you played with my head for so long, and I’m back to square one.”

So much for our kick ass start to the day.

“So until I can get past this irritation I feel I think it is best you go to the other bathroom and be gone before I get out of the shower. I seriously what to kick you in the nuts right now, so I think we need some distance.”

“Babe,” I pout and she rolls her eyes.

“Do not babe me, Jace.” Her glare intensifies. “I can’t do this with you right now.”

The door slams, and I hear the lock and lean forward, my head making a thud against the door.

“If it’s any consolation I was drunk when I made those choices.”

When she doesn’t respond I realize nothing is going to fix this, but time.

Chapter Thirty-Six

Aurora

“You’re so tan.” I hug Bree. So happy that she is finally home. “I’m jealous.”

“It was so peaceful and beautiful there,” she looks so refreshed. “We had own our private little pool, off the deck of our suite. I spent a lot of time in the sun, drinking fruity drinks and eating more than I should have. But it was so easy, I clicked a button, and fifteen to twenty minutes later I had someone showing up at our room. It was incredible. But we missed Piper and all of you.”

I step back, so each of the girls can move in to hug her, while the guys are moving around near the pool table having their own conversations.

I ignore the way Jace keeps looking at me, pouting, and waiting for me to respond.

I know I can’t be mad at him, but I can’t shake the irritation I’ve felt for days.

“Heard about the egging,” Bree nudged my shoulder gaining back my full attention. She I smiling and so is Luna, Presley had yet to say much of anything.

“I should have dotted her eye, like I told her I was going to.”

“More like tattoo her eye,” Luna laughs. “Zac filled us all in the next morning in between his fit of laughter.”
