Bea deserved it, and Bunny didn’t want to overshadow her.

But themeet me backstageechoed in Bunny’s mind throughout the rest of Bea’s set. When the show was finally over, Bunny slipped into the back again and sat down in the hard wooden chair to wait for Bea to finally make her way there.

She bounced her foot as it rested on her knee in her impatience. Their conversation prior to the show had been good, and Bunny honestly felt as though they were making steps toward righting their relationship. If Jo and Piper were going to give a romantic relationship a real go of it, then she and Bea were back to learning how to be civil with each other, and Bunny was the one who was going to have to make the most strides toward that.

Bea stepped into the room, shut the door behind her, and locked it. She leaned against the door, hands behind her back, and she looked Bunny over from head-to-toe. Her lips pursed, her eyes alight with that energy that came from performing, the adrenaline high that wasn’t easily rooted out when it started so late in the night.

“I didn’t mean for them to chant me onto the stage,” Bunny said, putting her hands on her knees as she stayed put. This was probably a good position for them. It gave Bea the upper hand, the power in the conversation. And Bunny wanted Bea to have every opportunity to be in control.

“I know you didn’t, but I really didn’t mind having you on stage.” Bea still hadn’t moved.

Bunny looked her over, the low-cut V-neck dress that showed off those beautiful tits she’d commented on earlier in the evening, the hemline high on her thighs. It would be so easy to sneak the hem up and touch. Bunny flicked her gaze back to Bea’s eyes. That wasn’t why they were here at all. In fact, it was the complete opposite of why Bunny was in this room.

She was here because Bea had beckoned her, no doubt to finish the conversation that they hadn’t had time for before the show started. Because surely Bunny still had a lot of groveling to do. And she would make sure that she did it the right way so that Piper had every hope of happiness that she could attain.

“I just didn’t want to take anything away from you,” Bunny said.

“You didn’t.” Bea finally stood up straight, sauntering toward Bunny like she had every ounce of power in the room. Her hips swayed side to side, saucily moving along with the dress and necklaces she had on. “It was fun to sing with you one last time.”

Cold shocked Bunny.

One last time.

Is that what this was? Bea had obviously already decided that she couldn’t continue with the Christmas event, despite Bunny’s apology. Sadness swept through Bunny’s chest before settling in the center of her throat. She had fucked it up so bad that Bea wasn’t even willing to consider it.

Piper had been wrong. There was no going back and fixing things to the way they were—not that it had been great, or Bunny’s goal. She wanted to fix them to be better than before. She definitely didn’t want to go back to the way she’d been acting.

“I think the crowd enjoyed it too.” Bea took another step.

Bunny dropped her ankle from her knee, spreading her legs as Bea stood right in front of her. Was this just to torture her? Because she was pretty damn sure that Bea knew exactly what she was doing.

“What did you want to talk about?” Bunny finally asked, trying to get them back on track.

“We need to go back to our original agreement, I think.” Bea slowly pulled off her denim jacket and threw it into the small suitcase she had in the corner of the room. Then she started stripping off the abundant necklaces that adorned her skin.

Bunny tried not to be entranced with the movement of Bea’s fingers, the slide of the metal across her alabaster skin, which was pink from the energy and excitement of the day, but she couldn’t. She was so in tune with every move that Bea made.

“Wh—” Bunny cleared her throat. “What agreement?”

“Civility.” Bea pulled up the edge of her skirt with both hands.

Holy fuck, is she going to strip naked?

Was she seriously going to pull every piece of cloth off her body and expect Bunny to do absolutely nothing?

This wasn’t going to work.

Bunny shifted in the wooden chair and was just about to get up and walk out when Bea took one step forward and then another, straddling Bunny’s thighs before she sat down in Bunny’s lap. Bunny’s heart was in her throat, her lungs constricting tightly along with the weight of Bea’s body, the heat of her skin against Bunny’s thighs.

“Bea?” Bunny asked, so unsure of what the hell was going on. Was this a dream?

“If we’re going to be in-laws, then we should probably figure out how to be around each other.”

Bunny’s mouth went dry in an instant. “In-laws?”

“I’m pretty sure that Piper and Jo are going to fall head over heels in love once we get out of their way and give them the space to figure themselves out.” Bea turned to the side, the shifting of her weight forcing Bunny’s thighs to press together against her already pulsing pussy. Bea put her mouth to Bunny’s ear and whispered, “So yeah, we’ll essentially be in-laws.”

“I don’t have a good track record with in-laws,” Bunny answered. Her hands found their way to Bea’s thighs, sliding up under the fabric of her dress to Bea’s hips and finding her completely without underwear on. Bunny froze. “What game are you playing?”
