Home is anywhere aslong we’re with you- Tyr Fate
She reads the email from her mother. The few words are brutal and cruel. She wants no contact with her daughter. Chile Raines just wants to be with her sisters.
The subtle message is that she blames Ryn for the implosion of the family.
I could kill her.
Charles elbows me and gestures for me to follow him. I hesitate but only a moment as I watch Auggie move in, giving my omega the comfort she needs.
I follow Charles out to the porch and stand in the fresh air.
“She’s going to be okay now, trust me.”
I glance at him. “How do you know?”
“Because sometimes ending things with family is like lancing a wound. She will hurt for a while, but she will feel better soon.”
Locke comes out to stand on his other side.
“What’s with you kids hiding your designations?” Charles grumbles at Locke. “We could have helped you.”
Locke shrugs. “I had no idea about Lia and Ryn. I was just trying to survive.”
None of the three of them have had an easy run of it. Even Bethany, who is the most in love omega I’ve ever met, hasn’t had an easy road.
Her pack is stoic and a little unsure with the rest of us. But they’ll fit in perfectly soon.
I don’t know why it’s so easy, but Lia’s alphas feel like brothers we haven’t seen for a long time, and Locke’s pack feels like family. I feel like we’ve just ended a conversation, and we’re picking it up again.
“Tell me about my son, please?” Charles asks after a long moment.
We both ignore the note that almost borders on begging.
I tell him everything I can remember about Kelly.
“So he’s got some pack with him?”
“I didn’t see bonds, but they act like pack. Gael and Ezy helped him protect Ryn.”
Charles rubs at his eye and sighs heavily. “He will come home when he’s ready. He knows the door’s always open.” I think he’s talking to himself and not to me.
“Why did he leave?”
“We have no idea. He was studying with Typhor, and then he just disappeared in the night. Just gone. We’ve kept tabs on him since the PI found him, but every attempt to reach out to him has been met by silence. He’ll be back when he’s ready.”
“No!”
I turn around and see Bailey rush out of the house.
“Fuck off, Zaden! You are not my big brother of anything, and I’m not listening to you.”
Bailey smacks Ianto’s hand off him, and when he attempts to grab him, the two hit the ground, rolling and tussling.
Charles clicks his tongue and takes a seat while I get out of the way.
It’s only when Envy steps outside that I attack, ripping the two of them apart and putting my omega behind me.
