Janie fought not to squirm as he looked over the questionnaire. Some of her answers were revealing, and it didn’t help his thigh was pressed against hers, spreading heat through her veins.
“Let’s talk about your answers.” He set the papers on her stomach, his gaze on her face.
She shifted slightly, but held his gaze. “Okay, talk.”
“Smarty pants.” He shifted, and damn if her breath didn’t catch in her throat as more of his skin came in contact with hers. “How many boys in college?”
“Two.” Cole didn’t need to know that neither one of them was special or that great of a lover, either.
“How long have you been pleasuring yourself?”
“After I left for college.” A wave of grief hit her. Her father had been dead just a little over three months when Cole and his father sent her off to college. Thank goodness for Alicia.
“What were you thinking?” His fingers trailed down her cheek, causing a shaft of awareness to spark against her skin. “Your eyes had a faraway look to them.”
“I was thinking about my dad.” The grief wasn’t as crippling as it had been in the past, but it still left a deep ache within her soul.
Cole took her hand and squeezed. “I wish he was still here for you.”
“Thanks. I wish yours was here too.” She tightened her fingers around his. “I think they’d approve of us, Cole.”
“They might.” He withdrew his hand and shuffled the papers on her stomach. “You checked off ‘maybe’ on anal, does it scare you?”
“A bit.” She drew her lower lip between her teeth. She had no idea of how she’d feel with a cock up her ass, and the pain worried her a bit.
“We’ll take it slow.” The papers he flipped on her stomach tickled. “All your ‘maybe’s’ we can work on.” He flipped a few more. “All your ‘no’s’ are fine.”
Janie blew out a breath. She’d worried he might press her on the ‘no’s’ to make them ‘maybe’s’, but he didn’t. There were some things that were a hard limit for her.
“Let’s discuss how this is going to work.”
“Okay.” Her stomach flipped at the intensity in his gaze.
“I will not be rushed into this experience with you, Janie. We’ll start tomorrow. Since I’ll be at work during the week, most of our play will be on weekends. But that doesn’t mean I won’t touch or caress you during the week.”
She nodded.
“Words, Janie. I want to hear from your lips that you understand.”
“I’ve got it.”
He nodded. “Not all our play will be confined to my playroom or the guest bedroom next to yours.”
A shiver slid up her spine. Well, she was the one who’d checked the ‘maybe’ on exhibition. He picked up the box from the table. “This will tell me when you’re ready to play.” He flipped the lid, and she caught her breath.
It was a simple silver chain with a locket on it. It sparkled when he lifted it out of the box. “Just slip this on, and I’ll know you’re ready to play. But even if you have it on, I may not want to play.”
She nodded. “What happens if I don’t have it on and you want to play?”
“I will ask you.”
“And if I don’t?”
“Then nothing.” He slipped the necklace back into the box. “There are times when I will kiss your skin or caress you without your necklace on, but no play session.”
“I understand.” It was odd talking their relationship out like this. But then it was more honest and upfront than dating was.
“Another thing, Janie. I’m your teacher, not your lover. No emotions will be involved.”
