“I am.”
“I’m glad. I was worried you’d run out screaming, but I don’t want you to get scared or hurt, so we’re going to do this my way. You’re a novice. Can you agree to that?”
His tone dropped to a husky firm tone that sent shivers of awareness over her skin. “I can try, but I can’t guarantee I won’t get impatient.”
“I get that. If you feel I’m moving too slow, talk with me. That’s one of the most important elements – we keep the lines of communication open and honest.”
“Dani explained that to me.”
“We need to go over your likes and dislikes and limits. I know an easy way, if you’re okay with me calling Max and asking for the club questionnaire.”
“Sure.” Why not? Once she went to the club with Zeke, others in the club would know, so filling out the questionnaire now wasn’t such a big deal.
“Thank you. Be right back.” Zeke stood and walked down the step to the yard before pulling out his cell phone.
Allyson kept her gaze on him as he talked. What was it about Zeke that pulled her to him? Yes, she liked him, but it was more than that. She was attracted to him, but she wanted more. Though his kisses were anything but simple. Heat filled her just thinking about them.
She thought back to the books she’d read over the last two days and couldn’t deny the zing of excitement that went through her nerves when she thought about exploring with Zeke.
Zeke jogged up the stairs to her. “Max is emailing me the questionnaire. Give me ten minutes to pull it up and print it.”
“Not a problem. Would you like me to put the food away?”
“I’ll do it, but let’s leave the chips out. Plus, I have dessert when you’re ready.”
“A man of many talents.”
“I’d love to say I am, but I picked the desert up from Lara’s café yesterday before she closed.” Zeke picked up the plate of sandwiches. “Relax and enjoy the view.” He strode into the house.
* * * *
Zeke put the sandwiches away and then fired up his computer. Within minutes he had the questionnaire printed out. How did he want to do this?
It would be better if they were inside, sitting close together, but outside could still work. The way the house was situated on the lot ensured privacy. He’d check to see how Allyson felt about being outside. Grabbing a pen, he set it and the questionnaire on the breakfast bar.
When he walked outside, Allyson was sitting on the double wide lounger. She looked comfortable. Maybe that was a better idea. He slipped inside, grabbed a clipboard, the pen, and paperwork.
Allyson glanced over at him and started to rise as he walked toward her. “No, stay there,” he said. “Do you want something more to drink?” He noticed the side tables were empty.
“Water please.”
Zeke grabbed two bottles out of the cooler and walked over to where Allyson reclined. He handed her one and set his on the side table before taking a seat. “We might as well be comfortable while we do this.” Being outside in the fresh air was better, and it would keep him on his best behavior.
“This questionnaire is pretty in-depth, so ask me any questions you want.”
“All right.”
“I should also warn you it’s alphabetical.”
Allyson tilted her head and looked at him. “What do you mean?”
“For example: Anal sex is first. Is that something you’re interested in?” Her cheeks flushed, and Zeke bit back a grin.
“No.”
“So I’ll put that as a hard limit.” He checked the box.
“I want to make sure I understand correctly,” Allyson interjected. “Hard limit isno, never, and a soft limit isit’s okay?”
