“I’ll get her out of her clothes. If you’d wait in the living room.” Dani held up her hand when he opened his mouth. “I know you’re her Dom, but if she wakes, she could panic. Do you want to risk hurting your relationship more if she thinks you’re one of the Doms from the party?”

Zeke closed his eyes. Leave it to a sub to make him see the light. “I get it.”

“Good. If you need a drink, in the kitchen, the cabinet on the right, glasses right next to that.”

“Thanks, Dani.” Zeke gave Allyson one last look before he left the room. It was better to let Dani take care of Allyson. Even if he had to fight himself to leave the room.

He glanced at the light beige sofa with a matching loveseat arranged in an L-shape as he made his way to the kitchen. There was a good size TV across the room, and bookcases lined the wall along with some interesting art on the wall.

A whimper floated through the air, and he rushed back to the bedroom, stopping in the doorway to find Dani smoothing the hair back from Allyson’s face. “It’s okay, Allyson. You’re safe.” Dani’s voice carried to where he stood. After a moment, things were quiet. With a silent curse, Zeke went into the kitchen.

Just as Dani told him, alcohol on the left. Whisky and brandy. He grabbed both bottles, two glasses, and made his way into the living room.

He sank down on the sofa and poured himself a whisky and knocked it back. He closed his eyes as it burned its way through his body. Zeke blew out a breath. Part of him wanted to drink straight from the bottle, but that wouldn’t solve anything. He needed to be alert for Allyson’s sake.

Dani walked out of the bedroom but left the door open a bit. She flopped down on the sofa. Zeke waved at the bottles.

“Whisky, please. Neat.”

He poured Dani two generous fingers, expecting her to sip it, but she knocked it back. “Thank you, I needed that.” She sighed before setting the glass on the table and resting her head against the back of the sofa.

“Allyson asleep?”

“Yes, she barely moved when I took her shoes and jeans off. What the fuck was she thinking?” Dani’s cheeks turned pink when she realized what she said. “Sorry.”

“Don’t be. I was thinking the same thing. You said Allyson fell back into old patterns. She told me about the Seattle parties and indicated they were in her past.”

“I thought they were.” Dani sat up and curled her legs under her. “When I came home a little over a year ago, I went to one of the parties with her. The minute we got inside, I knew we shouldn’t be there. I dragged her out of there and got her to promise never to go again. And she didn’t until tonight.” She sighed. “Zeke, tell me again happened today?”

Zeke explained once again.

Dani swore when he was finished, and Zeke eyebrows rose. “Why won’t Allyson understand she has worth, that she’s nothing like her parents?”

He was about to ask her more when his phone rang. Zeke saw Max’s name and answered it. “Hey, Max. Yeah, we got Allyson, and she’s fine.” Physically at least. “I’m at Dani’s place.”

“I’m glad you got her. I’ll let everyone know. The subs were quite upset.”

Damn, he’d forgotten the sub meeting. “Thank you.”

“No worries. If you need anything at all, let me know.” The line went dead, and Zeke set his phone on the table.

“Allyson doesn’t realize how she’s touched everyone’s lives, that they care about her,” Dani said.

“What do you mean?” He wanted to hear what Dani had to say, because he and Allyson would have a future together. They needed to get past this episode to have one.

“The nights she’s been at Wicked Sanctuary, she sits and talks with the subs, and they talk to her. It’s been good for her and all the subs.” Dani shifted. “It took her years to let her guard down with my grandparents, yet with the subs, it happened rather quickly.”

“Do your grandparents know about Wicked Sanctuary?”

“I think everyone in town does after the press conference Damon and Tessa had several months ago. But if you’re asking if it upsets them, it doesn’t. My grandparents are laid back. They know I’m into kink and I belong to the club.”

“Allyson said she lived with you and your grandparents.” He wondered about that.

“Yes, for about four years. We were both attending college locally, so it didn’t make sense to do the dorm thing.” Dani yawned.

“Why don’t you go to bed. I can sleep on the sofa.”

“You don’t have to stay, Zeke. I’ll be fine with Allyson on my own.”
