“No, you’re not.” Her lashes drifted shut. A little nap and them maybe she’d be up to thinking about over her feelings for this man who’d wormed his way into her heart.

Chapter Six

Rose pulled into Wicked Sanctuary and parked. She was running a little late. There had been an emergency at the clinic with one of the dogs in their care. She’d texted Oliver to let him know. Thankfully, it was a reaction to some medication and Jeff had already administer drugs to help the dog but called to have her double check. The dog would be just fine, and she made a note in the dog’s chart.

Grabbing her bag off the passenger seat, she stepped out of her vehicle and started for the club. “Rose,” a male voice said.

She turned to see Thomas. “Thomas? What are you doing here?” Max told her he was banned.

“I needed to see you.”

Thomas looked horrible as if he hadn’t slept in days, his hair was mussed, dark circles under his eyes, and clothes unkept. Rose took a deep breath. “I’m sorry, Thomas, I don’t want to talk to you. Now or ever.”

“Rose, please.” He grabbed her arm.

She jerked loose as the door to the club came flying open. Oliver, Max, and Damon marched out. Thomas’ eyes widened. “I just want to talk,” he said.

“There’s nothing I have to say to you.” She didn’t.

“You’re not welcome here,” Max said.

Oliver reached her side, taking her hand in his. She squeezed his fingers.

Thomas eyes narrowed when he saw her holding hands with Oliver. “So that’s how it is. He steps in the second I’m out of the picture.” His hostile gaze turned to Oliver. “You were just waiting to move in weren’t you.” His tone was dismissive. “I want you back, Rose. I’m sorry I lied. I broke up with her.”

Shock hit Rose in the belly. She opened her mouth.

“I love you, Rose. I’m your Dom.”

Oliver stiffened.

“You have the audacity to say that to me after you lied to me. You told me you were single and there was no woman in your life..” Rose fought to keep her anger from getting the better of her. She didn’t get angry often, but when she did watch out. “We were play partners for two years, Thomas. You lied to me that entire time.”

“I’m sorry.”

“No, you’re sorry you got caught. Go home to your girlfriend, I have no use for you. I have a Dom I love and respect. You’re nothing.”

Thomas took a step forward but Max and Damon were there. “I told you, you are not welcome here.” A police car pulled up and an officer stepped out.

“Logan,” Max said, waving the officer over.

“I see we have a trespasser,” Logan said walking up to them. “What do you want me to do?”

Max looked at her and Rose shook her head. “Just make him leave and never come back.” Thank goodness Thomas didn’t know where she lived. She’d never taken him to her place, just as he’d never taken her to his. That was probably why he’d come here.

Rose looked at Oliver. “Let’s go inside, please.”

“Of course, love.” He put his arm around her waist and guided her into Wicked Sanctuary. Thomas’ shouts followed them to the door, and when Oliver closed it behind them, Rose sagged against him.

“I didn’t expect that to happen.”

“Come on.” Oliver led her to the doors of the club.

“I’m not dressed properly.” She couldn’t go into the club and not be properly dressed. It would disrespect Max, the club and the members.

Sierra stepped out of the bathroom with Tessa. “We’ll help her get changed,” Sierra said.

Oliver nodded, then looked down at Rose. “I’ll be waiting for you.” He brushed a kiss over her lips before letting her go.
