“Okay. I’ll wrap these up for later.” He took the platter into the kitchen. “Do you want me to make you some hot tea?”
“I’m okay, thank you.” The man was so thoughtful. She usually had a cup of tea after dinner to help her relax.
Anthony came back into the room and pulled her to her feet and led her over to her sofa. Then he sank onto the cushions.
“I really need a new sofa.”
“I don’t mind.” He put his arm around her shoulders, pulling her to him.
Kaley enjoyed Anthony holding her. He’d done it every night this week. He would hold her after dinner, and they’d chat. She didn’t own a TV.
“Have you given more thought to being my model?”
“I have.” She tilted her head back and gazed into his blue eyes. “Will you tell me more about what it will involve?”
His eyes lit up. “Mainly having you sit for me in my studio while I sketch you.”
“Dressed?” She’d wondered about that.
“Up to you.”
Kaley nodded. “How long do you think it will take?”
“It depends on how often you’re able to model for me.”
“I work pretty much six days a week. As you know, Sunday is usually my day for doing house stuff and making sure my equipment is all ready for the next week.”
“But you had time last Sunday.”
“I did.” Because she’d been motivated to see him again, and there hadn’t been that much to do. She took a deep breath. “I’d like to try.”
His arm tightened around her shoulders. “Thank you.”
“Don’t thank me yet. It will have to be on Sundays, and I don’t want to interfere with your work with the kids.”
“Even just an hour would be great.”
Kaley smiled. His face was so animated at this idea. “Maybe after you’re done with the kids on Sunday. That would give me time to get all my stuff done and still get home early enough to get ready for Monday.”
“Sounds like a plan.”
She relaxed against him. She still didn’t think she was model material, but she was willing to let Anthony figure that out for himself.
“Would you be open to a scene in the club tomorrow night?”
“I would.” It was time. She was ready to move forward, and she trusted Anthony, more than any other man she’d been with. He wouldn’t take a scene further than she could handle.
He shifted. “That means I’ll leave now and let you get some sleep so you’re not so tired tomorrow.”
She appreciated his concern, but she’d made sure she would be done by five tomorrow. She stood with him and walked him to the door.
“I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Anthony drew her into his arms and lowered his head. Kaley didn’t hesitate; she kissed him back, her arms going around his neck. For once, he didn’t hold back when her tongue touched his.
He pulled her closer. She loved being in his arms. Each night this week, they’d kissed before he left, and each night, her body caught fire in his arms. Tonight, the kiss went on and on, their tongues exploring each other. She stretched her fingers into his hair as his roamed her back.
Maybe she could ask him to stay, but she knew if he did, she’d never get any sleep, and she wanted to be alert and fresh for her scene with him tomorrow. She moaned as he lifted his head.
