Anthony leaned his forehead against hers. “You taste so sweet. I don’t want to leave.” Kaley closed her eyes, then opened them. “But you need to sleep. Tomorrow, my lady.” Anthony stepped back, unlocked her apartment door, and left.

She locked up and leaned against the wood. Tomorrow night, she would let her control go. A shiver ran through her veins.

It was the first time she’d do a full scene with him and she wondered how well they would mesh together. Kaley knew she trusted him, but a part of her was apprehensive. She’d never fully scened with anyone in the club, not even during her training. It was a good thing she had bar duty first; it would give her time to talk with some of the other subs.

Chapter Eleven

Anthony glanced over at the bar where Kaley was working. She’d asked him to not sit at the bar until after nine tonight. At the time, he wondered why. Now he knew. In between serving people, she was talking with several of the subs.

Right now, she was talking with Regina and Crystal. He figured Kaley was a little nervous about tonight. In the past week, they’d talked more about soft and hard limits and about the club itself.

It was interesting how quickly Kaley had settled into their relationship. She allowed him to bring her dinner and told him it made her happy not having to think about food at the end of the day.

She was letting him make a lot of the decisions, but he didn’t interfere with her business. That was solidly in her control.

He was at her building every night and cleared her apartment before allowing her to enter. He still hadn’t told her about his call to Allison at the city planning office so he could make sure her building was more secure.

There was a sub inside Kaley waiting for the right time to emerge. She was beginning to trust him. He watched her at the bar, laughing as Crystal said something.

“Is there a reason you’re not at the bar?” Max asked, clapping him on the shoulder.

“Kaley asked me to wait a bit. She’s chatting with some of the subs.”

Max glanced at the bar. “I see. You two going to scene tonight?”

“Yes. I think she might be nervous.”

“Not unusual. She doesn’t have a lot of experience.”

“I know.” Anthony took a deep breath. “I’ve been taking her dinner every night this week, and we’ve chatted. Together, we work.”

“If you didn’t, I’d be the first one to tell you.”

“What?” Anthony stared at Max.

“I see everyone’s questionnaires. If a Dom and sub don’t seem compatible to me, I’ll sit them down and talk with them before there is any play between them.”

“Have you ever been wrong?”

Max shook his head. “The only thing I’d be careful with is the knife play. That’s a hard limit for Kaley.”

“I know.” He enjoyed knife play, but it wasn’t something that was necessary in his kink life. A lot of subs had knife play as a hard limit, even some of the Doms. He had tried to bring it up this week, and Kaley had shut him down. Maybe once they built more of a relationship, she’d open up to him.

“If you don’t mind my asking, what kind of scene do you have planned?”

“Bondage with some impact play.” He wouldn’t get too deep into the impact play; Kaley agreed to light impact play. “We chatted about it, and I’ll go over it again before we start tonight.”

“Good. As I said, I think she’s in good hands.” Max patted his shoulder.

Anthony watched Max walk away. Even beyond the paperwork, the man had an uncanny way of knowing everything about everyone. That’s probably what made him so good at running the club. Anthony’s watch vibrated. It was nine. He could go to the bar now.

He hesitated. Sierra and Allyson were at the bar chatting with Kaley. Then Kaley looked up, and their gazes clashed. Her cheeks turned pink. The other two women turned and smiled at him. Anthony waved to both.

The women turned back around, said something, then patted Kaley’s hand before leaving the bar. Anthony sauntered over and sat on one of the now vacant stools.

“Drink?” Kaley asked.

“I’m good. You okay?”
