“It is, for once. What time do you want it?”
“Ten, when Kaley finishes with her bar shift.”
“You got it. I’ll post the sign, and you should be fine.”
“Thanks.” Anthony turned away. Tonight would be fun.
* * * *
“The garden?” Kaley’s voice held disbelief.
“Yes.”
Kaley shook her head. “I thought that was only for parties.” She didn’t remember ever seeing it for private use, but then she’d only been a member a few months.
“Max does allow private use. And tonight, it’s ours.”
Anthony put his arm around her waist, opened the door, and led her out. Kaley was in her normal sports bra and boy shorts, along with flat shoes. They were lucky; today had been a scorcher and the night air was still warm. He dropped his bag by the door. “Here are the rules for tonight.” He turned her to face him. “You have thirty minutes to make it to the clearing on the other side of the garden.”
“There has to be more than that.” Kaley was suspicious. She hadn’t been in the garden, but she’d heard some of the subs talk about it.
“If you make it to the clearing without me catching you, you win. But if I catch you, I win.”
“And what do I win?”
“Anything you want.”
She tilted her head and stared at him. “If you win?”
Fire burned in his gaze. “Anything I want.”
“Within my limits.”
He nodded. She was still suspicious, but how hard could this be? “You’re on.”
Anthony pulled a stop watch out of his bag. “Thirty minutes. Go.”
She turned and jogged to the entrance and slipped into the garden.
* * * *
Kaley blew out a breath. She had no clue how much time had passed. Anthony had tricked her. The hedges were over six feet tall, and she had no idea where she was in the garden. No one had mentioned it was a maze.
She walked straight to an open area from which there were two ways to go. She tried the first one and ended up in another open area, but not out of the hedges. This was so unfair. She should have expected that from Master Max and the other Doms. They always stacked the odds in their favor.
A rustling sound had her moving to her right. She had to come out on the other side soon. Frustration hit her in the gut when she came to another choice. Damn. Right or left? She’d been staying right, but maybe it was time to go left.
More rustling sounds. It wasn’t the wind, since it was calm and warm tonight. Was it Anthony? Or something else? A shiver chased up her spine. She liked animals, but the club was near the woods, and it was highly possible wildlife had found the garden.
She glanced around. While there was light, it was trail lights. Her heart picked up speed as the rustling came closer. Think! Kaley screamed when Anthony appeared in front of her.
“Gotcha.” He pulled her into his arms.
“You fiend.” She punched his shoulder. “You scared me.”
He had the nerve to laugh. Oh this man liked to play, did he? Well, she’d show him how playful she could be.
“Let me go.” She squirmed in his hold.
