Her auburn hair was braided, extending down her back but exposing her neck and creamy skin. When she agreed to allow him to paint her, he’d make sure her hair was down, cascading over her shoulders.
His gaze caught on the bright red sports bra and black boy shorts. No. He wanted to paint her in the nude, but it was way too soon for that.
Kaley turned, and he saw her profile and frowned. Her face looked too thin from this angle. Was she not eating properly? If she became his, he would make sure she ate. Where in the hell did that thought come from? He wanted to paint her; he was not planning to take her on as a sub.
Although the idea had merits. He glanced at her wrist. White wristband: she was available. Another thing to think about. He kept his gaze on her as she moved down the bar, serving patrons.
She stopped in front of him, and her eyes went wide. “Good evening, what can I get you?”
Her voice was calm, but he noticed she didn’t say Sir. Had she forgotten the protocols in the club? Possibly she was new. He’d fix that. “Soda, please.”
Kaley reached down and pulled out four cans and set them in front of him. Interesting she didn’t just ask him. He chose his favorite, and she put the others away. She placed a tall glass with ice in front of him, snapped open the can, and emptied it into the glass.
“Thank you.” He took a sip. “How long have you been working the bar?”
“About a month now.”
“Sir.”
She blinked, then said, “Yes, Sir.”
Damned if that ‘Yes Sir’ didn’t make his cock twitch even if it was part of the club protocol. “I don’t remember seeing you last night.”
“Only on Saturday nights. I do have another job.” She turned her head as another patron sat down. “Excuse me, Sir.”
Anthony kept his gaze on her as she served drinks to other members and handed off several bottles of water to one of the subs.
He called her name softly when she walked by him. “Kaley.”
“Yes, Sir?”
“Talk with me.”
“I need to work, Sir.”
“You can do that, but I’d like to chat while you’re not busy.” He saw hesitation flash in her eyes. “I promise to let you do your job.”
“And no talking about me modeling for you, Sir?”
“You drive a hard bargain.” He liked the flash of fire in her. A woman who knew her own mind. He wanted to know why she wouldn’t pose for him. He needed to understand.
“Take it or leave it, Sir.” She crossed her arms over her chest.
“While I’m sitting here at the bar I won’t mention it.”
She nodded and went to fill another drink. Anthony was glad he’d come to Wicked Sanctuary tonight. Now maybe he could find out what made Kaley tick.
* * * *
Kaley wasn’t sure what to make of Anthony sitting at the bar. When she wasn’t serving others, she stood and chatted with him. True to his word, he didn’t mention her sitting for him. It was actually nice to have someone to talk to.
The bar wasn’t super busy tonight, and it staved off boredom. She was surprised when Noah joined them.
“My turn,” Noah said.
“Is it eleven already, Sir?”
“Yes. Go relax.” Noah gave her a little slap on the butt.
