Last Sunday, Kaley reviewed her finances and was surprised to find she was almost at her goal. She’d been working hard to get to this point, and with winter coming soon, it gave her the cushion she might need.

Anthony sat down, and she brought him a glass of sparkling water.

“Hi, sweetheart.” He leaned over and brushed a kiss against her lips.

“Hi, again.” He was acting like he hadn’t seen her all night, yet they’d driven in together.

“Do you want to scene tonight?”

“I’d love to.” She really wanted to play with him some more. Not that they hadn’t, but this was different. Anticipation flowed through her veins.

“Good. I’ll have Max reserve an area for us.”

“What do you have planned?”

“A surprise.” He grinned, and Kaley’s smile faltered. “Nothing that will be past your limits, I promise.”

She nodded as Max walked up. “Evening, Anthony, Kaley.” He clapped Anthony on the shoulder. “Kaley, Noah is going to take over. Sierra would like to chat with you.”

“Oh.” Kaley ran her hands over her boy shorts. “Is everything okay?”

“Yes. She told me she needed to talk with you now.”

“Okay.” Kaley shrugged. “Be back in a few minutes.” She slipped out from behind the bar and walked over to the area where Sierra and the other subs were sitting. “What’s up, Sierra?” she asked.

“I didn’t want to spring this on you, but I was outnumbered.” She gestured to where the other subs were standing. Crystal, Tessa, Regina, Allyson, Rose, Lara, and Dani. “We all want to help you with your fear.”

Kaley stiffened. “Sierra…”

Sierra held up her hand. “I know, but this time we did it differently. Nothing scary.”

The women standing in front of the table parted. While the table held knives, they were

household knifes. Steak knives, cutting tools, even a butter knife.

“Are you okay?” Crystal asked.

“What is this?” Kaley asked, proud her voice was steady and calm.

“I thought maybe since you told us you were working on your knife phobia, this might help,” Sierra said. “These are knives we use in everyday life.”

“And these,” Tessa waved her hand at the small gathering of items at the other end of the table. “Are non-sharp items that can be used in knife play.”

Kaley glanced over and then moved to that side of the table. There was a rubber knife, little claw things with rounded edges, several feathers, a metal spatula, and a metal spackle spreader. She reached out and touched each one.

“Anthony uses these?” She hadn’t noticed them when she was in his studio, but she had to admit she never really looked.

“Oh yes,” Regina said. “It’s really to get inside your head, not about pain or hurting you.”

“But I’ve seen his knives. They all look so sharp.” She shivered.

“Of course, his knives are sharp. Dull knives can hurt someone more than a sharp one,” Rose said. She lifted her arm. “This small scar was made from a dull knife. I know it sounds funny, but it happens.”

Kaley raised her hand to rub the spot below her breasts and then stopped herself. It was a habit, one she intended to break. These items didn’t scare her. While she was super careful with kitchen knives, she could pick them up and use them.

Her fear nudged her in the gut, but she was determined to understand what Anthony’s kink. She reached for the rubber knife.
