When he finally opened his eyes again, he didn’t allow her to get a good look at his eyes before he kissed her. This kiss was different than the ones before, which were hard and lustful. This kiss was slow and passionate, causing Harley to completely lose herself within the man who claimed to be the devil. Harley knew better though. He may have been named after evil, and he may have tried to exude evilness, but she saw him for who he reallywas. Blunt. Mean. Arrogant. Alpha. Misunderstood. All words to describe him perfectly, but not evil. Never evil.

Hades pulled away from the kiss and walked her over to the bed before gently laying her down. He didn’t toss her like he normally did, but his movements were still demanding, still quick with frustration and lust. Before Harley could really gather what was going on, they were both naked, and Hades hovered over her. That was when she saw tears in his eyes, and that startled her. It unsettled her. She couldn’t process the sight as his heavy dick toyed with her slippery entrance.

Once again, she reached up and cupped his face with one of her hands, wiping away a lone tear.

“Don’t.” Hades moved her hand from his face, sliding his dick around in her wetness, causing her to moan.

Quickly, Harley refocused and whispered, “Hades, wait?—”

“Don’t, Tink. I’m asking you?—”

She knew Hades never asked anyone to do anything, but something in her wouldn’t allow her to let this go.

“What’s wrong? Please, talk to me.”

“I just need you. I need that lil pussy to talk to me. That’s all I need, and I’ll feel better.”

He pushed up against her again, but he didn’t slide into her. It was like he waited for her to give him the go ahead, and as badly as she wanted to, she didn’t. She couldn’t let go of the sadness etched on his face.

With confidence she didn’t have, she said, “I need you to talk to me first.”

Hades let out a frustrated grunt as he rolled off her and sat on the edge of the bed. When Harley sat up, she noticed his stiff dick pointing straight toward the ceiling, and she licked her lips. His dick was beautiful, and it was big. Bigger than anything she had ever seen, and nerves bounced around in her at the thought of what it would feel like filling her up.

Once again, she had to remind herself to focus as she gently crawled over to him and leaned on his shoulder, looking up at him. She didn’t speak. She waited patiently for him to get whatever was on his heart out. It wasn’t until her soft hand rubbed lazy lines up his big arm that he finally spoke.

“I went to see my father today.”

Harley froze for a moment before resuming her caresses. Hades had yet to talk much about himself with her, and her interest was definitely piqued, so she asked, “How did that go?”

“Ain’t seen the man in over twenty years. I’m sure you can imagine how that went.”

“Why has it been so long?”

Silence stretched between them, and Harley waited patiently, leaning into him and caressing him, reminding him that she was there to listen whenever he was ready.

After a while, his head bowed, and he said, “He used to beat me. Me and my mother. She and I were a team, and we made sure he didn’t touch my younger siblings. It bonded us, I guess. My mama was my best friend, but she was a weak woman. You remind me a lot of her.”

Harley drew back with a frown on her face as she looked up at him. She wasn’t sure how to take the comment, but she didn’t want to offend him or stop him from talking, so she let it slide and listened to what he had to say. He noticed, though. He always noticed her.

“I don’t mean nothin’ by that,” he assured. “I just mean y’all both soft. That’s how a woman should be, but I remember wishing she would stand up for herself. As I got older, if I noticed my father was about to pick a fight with her, I would pick one with him to take the beating. He was always a big man. Bigger than me. Even when I fought back, he would always win.

“I made sure Lu never stepped in. He did one time, and I beat his ass after our father. I ain’t mean no harm by it, really. Ijust wanted him to understand that stepping in would never help anything. I still feel bad about that shit though. I only have one other regret besides that.”

He stopped talking then, and several long and drawn-out minutes passed before Harley reached up and gently tugged on his beard. “Hades?”

When he looked at her, the pain etched on his face was almost unbearable. She gasped and, without thought, leaned in and kissed him. He hungrily kissed her back before pulling her onto his lap so she straddled him. His dick sprang to life again, and it took everything in Harley to pull away slightly as she peered into his eyes.

He sighed, and something in her rejoiced at the fact that they could have silent conversations. He could tell she wanted him to continue telling his story before they took whatever was between them to the next level.

He looked to his right and seemed to get lost in his thoughts as he spoke them aloud. “I always knew one day my father would kill me. I was wrong though. It was my mom he killed.”

“Oh my God, Hades.” The emotion in Harley’s voice caused him to look at her, and when he did, she noticed more tears wetting his cheeks. Her heart ached for him. This strong bully of a man was really a young boy underneath all that toughness, reliving his painful childhood.

“He didn’t kill her with his own two hands, but after years of such bad abuse and then being forced to watch her oldest son endure that same abuse… her heart couldn’t stand it. Like I said, she was soft. She was made for nurturing and love and shit. Shit my father never gave her. She was weak, but it’s okay.” He looked up at the ceiling. “It’s okay, Mama. I understand.” Harley nuzzled her head into his neck and hugged him tightly. When he continued, she stayed locked in place, listening to his heartbeat while he spoke of his past. “I was there when she did it. I wasthere when she killed herself. I watched. She didn’t know I was there, but I saw the whole thing.

“I came home early from school that day because I had a feeling something wasn’t right. I went straight home to my mama. I tried to stop her, but I was too late. If only I had skipped out of school earlier. Even by five minutes… That’s my only other regret.

“I called the ambulance, and she was still alive when they got there, but barely. I held her the entire time we waited. I talked to her, and I told her it was going to be okay. I told her I would take care of my siblings and get them away from my father. I think that was all she needed to hear. She closed her eyes after that, and they never opened again.
