He’s a hopelessly traditional man. There’s no way he would ever serve food to my mother… I don’t think I’ve ever seen it once, yet here and now I’m seeing it and it’s so casual.Have any of my boyfriends ever made my plate?
I don’t think so, not one. Regardless of race, I was always the one serving as if it were naturally my place.
I pop a ripe and sweet grape in my mouth, and I just so happen to peek over to Wolf’s plate and let out a childish giggle.
“What’s so funny?” she cocks her head to the side, nibbling on a slice of salami.
“Nothing, I was just looking at your plate compared to mine. It’s full of meat while mine contains only fruits and vegetables,” I point to our plates and she snorts.
“How are you going to have energy to play with Axil if you don’t eat meat? You should eat some meat! Here!” she holds outher hand, handing me the salami she was just nibbling on, and I burst out laughing.
“No I’m fine. I was si?—”
“Eat!” she commands, and it’s as if the playful air about her is sucked out of the room. I lean in and take a bite, only for our eyes to meet, but when they do, my heart rate increases. “Good girl,” she purrs, sitting back, and her intense shift swaps back as if nothing happened, leaving me blinking in confusion.
“What in the world?” I whisper to myself, but Wolf interrupts me. placing her hand on mine and scooching closer.
“Soooo…” She bounces on the bed. “How’s your time been with Axil? Did you guys do anything fun since the party?” She gazes at me with interest.
“Well… nothing really,” I laugh, shaking the earlier situation from my head. “Things have been pretty good and relaxing.”
“Good and relaxing? Axil?” She sits back with a frown.
“Yeah, good and relaxing. I mean we did have a fun moment in the tub, but other than that, life has been normal,” I shrug, giggling to myself that I consider this relationship normal. I reach for a prosciutto from her plate and a blackberry from mine and pop it into my mouth.
“Normal?” she scowls, nose wrinkled. “You poor thing,” she sulks and I really bust out laughing this time, petting her head.
“It’s nothing for you to sulk about, but more than that… why do you think normal is sulk-worthy?” I raise a brow.
“Well we—” Suddenly I recall their outfits at the party and hold up my hands, stopping her from answering.
“You know what? Never mind,” I interrupt and she laughs.
“Fine. I’m just kidding, anyway. I doubt anything Axil does is normal, anyway. You’ve probably just been desensitized.”Bingo! She read me like a book. “But on another note, you know I’m really excited that Axil found you,” she says as she lays her head on my shoulder, feeding me another salami.
“Really?”
“Truly. Axil really looks happy with you, unlike how it was with that bitch,” she sneers.
“I take it you’re referring to Idina?”
“Ugh, don’t spoil my appetite,” she gags.
“You’re the one who brought her up, though!” I remind her.
“Yes, but you’re not supposed to say her name. Your lips are too pretty to utter such vulgarities. Now I have to wash your mouth out,” she tells me as she takes a sip of wine. Before I can stop her, she places her lips on mine, drawing a gasp from my lips which leads to her sliding her tongue into my mouth and dribbling wine in. “There, all better,” she smiles brightly.
Vacantly, I stare her, kind of shaken.Whoa… I wasn’t expecting that…
“Here, do you want some more?” she purrs, causing my stomach to tighten as she sits up in bed and crawls over to me.
“N… no I’m fine.” I look away to Sir for help, but he’s just over there casually talking to Bunny as if I’m not over here fighting for my life.
“Are you sure?”
“I-I’m sure,” I stutter, picking up a strawberry and downing my entire glass of wine. Then I pour myself another from the chilled bottle by the bed.
I promised to stop drinking so much since the night I met Sir at the lounge, but tonight I can’t seem to stop the thirst festering in my belly. Maybe it’s because I find Wolf so incredibly interesting with her small stature and striking features, but so full of a natural aura and ability to pull one in that I feel like my head is swirling with unnatural thoughts.
