April looks over at me. “But we should, right? Just march back there and do our shopping? We shouldn’t let them intimidate us.”
I take a deep breath. Then nod. “Yeah. Probably. But, you know what?” I reach for the stack of plastic containers on the display table just before the registers. “I think some days you need to eat your vegetables. And some days it’s totally okay to eat dessert first.” I hand her a container of frosted brownies, then take one for myself. “And some days, you can havejustbrownies for dinner.”
She looks down at the brownies and then nods. “Yeah. I think you’re right.”
I am. I’m sure of it. I hand the package of chicken and the few vegetables we did manage to gather to the woman running the register. “I won’t be needing these after all,” I tell her.
She scans my package of brownies and nods. “Some days are like that.”

Wait ’Til I Tell Ye
PODCAST EPISODE 903 TRANSCRIPT
Lindsey:Welcome to this very special edition ofWait ‘Til I Tell Ye. I know, I know, we’re almost never on at this time of night.
Jen: But never fear! We are here for you whenever something big happens that you should know about!
Lindsey: That’s right. And with this royal family, there’s no telling when something exciting might happen.
Jen: Exactly! And I feel like we’ve been talking nonstop about them. We had Cian’s wedding and Scarlett’s sudden appearance. Then we had Declan showing up, shocking all of us.
Lindsey: His family included, according to our sources.
Jen: Well, considering it’s literally been like seventeen years since he was here, I’d say shocked is the right word.
Lindsey: And then we find out that Declan and Astrid also said wedding vows! Now, I assume the family knewthatwas coming, but we sure as hell didn’t.
Jen: I am actually disappointed there are only four children and they’re all now married because these past few months were so fun!
Lindsey: I agree! But, we get to keep talking about their new relationships, get to know the new princesses better, and then there will maybe be babies and stuff!
Jen: Not to mention all the cool stuff they’re all doing. Like the topic of tonight’s show!
Lindsey: Yes. Cian and Scarlett headed for the US last night and arrived in Portland today for their first big event together and there was a really fun crowd there with them.
Jen: There sure was! Since Declan, Astrid, and Alex all live there, not only did we have Cian with his big brother at a public event for the first time in forever but Jonah and Linnea traveled with Cian and Scarlett, so the three Olsen siblings were all there together as well!
Lindsey: Yeah, for a while, we were watching Louisiana since we had a little gathering of royals there after Fiona and everyone moved. Then Fiona fell in love. Then Colin. Then Torin met Abigail there. But now, it seems maybe Portland is where we will be getting juicy information from?
Jen: Oh boy, I hope so! I want to knoweverythingabout the newlyweds, Declan and Astrid. And weneverhear enough about Alex! Do we have sources in Portland to keep us updated?
Lindsey: Of course we do.
Jen: Excellent. But we didn’t need a source for what we want to tell you about tonight because it was all pretty public. Cian and Scarlett showed up to the site where they are opening the first community through their foundation, Ruby’s Way.
Lindsey: Yes, and we should note for anyone who hasn’t read up on the Ruby’s Way Foundation yet, that Cian and Scarlett named it after Scarlett’s twin sister, Ruby.
Jen: Aw, I love that.
Lindsey: Everyone can go to the show notes and click the link for Ruby’s Way to learn more. But basically, these are living spaces—some are apartment buildings, some are houses—that are provided at no cost to groups of single moms who come together and live as a community, helping one another with child care, meals, keeping their houses, laundry, shopping…just all of the everyday tasks that go into homemaking and raising kids that can be that much harder when you’re doing it alone. These are single moms who are all in the same boat, coming together to support one another with friendship and companionship as well as literal hands-on help.
Jen: It was inspired by Princess Scarlett’s own experience as a single mom, the way her sister was there to support her, and the way they built community with other people around them as they raised Princess Mariah. It’s really cool.
Lindsey: It is. And to further entice you to click and read more, there are also atonof photos from today that you are all going tolove! Linnea sent those over to us personally and so they are up close and behind the scenes and all kinds of fun!
Jen: Princess Scarlett seems so happy! She did a really great job with her speech, and she seems so proud of this. As she should be.
