“Okay, keep your eyes and ears peeled. From what I understand, Vitale is close to grabbing Mark Milanas, and when he does, I’m thinking we could do a deal with Nell to swoop in and steal the fucker. We can take him out ourselves and bury him deep, after we’ve had our fun with him.” Axel has that manic look, but it’s the fact he wants to steal Vitale’s prize that has me chuckling. They are becoming more competitive all the time, but I also see, even after the fight, they both have respect for each other. It’s a kind of quiet alliance, I believe, and if shit hits the fan, it could be we are good allies for each other.
“Anything else?” Pres asks and Knuckles quickly speaks.
“I’ve heard the fighter deaths have increased. The betting on these matches has gotten out of hand, but of course it’s Milanas behind all this shit. We’ll take out the fuckers on the fight night as I’ve been speaking to my contacts and I know who’s involved now. All of us involved in the fight will target a man and make sure we end them. You all in with this? If not, we need to change fighters.”
“I’m up for it,” I quickly respond.
Chaos is bouncing in his seat, grinning at Wings, who is sitting further away from him. “Oh, I’ll take mine out, no worries. I can take Wings one out too, because you know he’s squeamish.”
“Squeamish, what the fuck, Chaos?” Wings snarls.
“We all know you’d rather play with your gadgets like the bee drones,” Chaos continues just to annoy Wings.
“Fuck you, arsehole,” Wings snaps, and when Meat chuckles we all realize he said arsehole, and not asshole.
“Organize that between yourselves,” Axel states, tapping the desk to stop the squabbling that Chaos and Wings have going on.
“The fight is two weeks from today,” Colton reports. “Mav is going to be sparring with Garth, and everyone else I have different brothers stepping up to help. Target has given Fist a few pointers and BS has shown Wings how to dodge a southpaw’s hook. On the whole, we have everything undercontrol, and I’m sure we can add to taking out a few assholes while we are at it.”
“I’d like to bring up the subject of bringing Garth into the brotherhood. He’s stepped up every time we’ve asked him to. I know he said originally that he wasn’t interested, but I think we can get him as a brother, and he’d be a hell of a good one.” I keep my eyes on Axel, because I’m sure he’s thought the same as me.
“I reckon it would be a good move. He’s prior military, so a good all-round man. He’s jumped in as Mav has stated whenever we’ve asked him. He’s doing door duty now at TJs and Club Whisky. I know you spoke to Sentry about that Mav, and he was okay with you having the help from Garth. He’s also married and settled with his wife. Hannah I’ve met, and she’s a good person. She fit into the Swap Shop easily. Do you have any issue with her, or Garth, Sentry?” Axel asks.
“No, they are both good people. Hannah works hard when she is at the shop. If I ask her to do extra hours, she is willing. Garth stands at the door or patrols the shop without particularly being seen. He has a hell of an ability to be a shadow when needed. He just melts into the background and I’ve seen women with kids come into the shop and not even notice him from the moment they walk in to the moment they walk out. I’d be happy to have him as a brother in the club.”
“Mav, speak to Garth then get back to me. I don’t want to put this to a vote until I know if he is interested or not. It would be a waste of time. Our bylaws also state that if anyone denies brotherhood once they are never given the opportunity a second time. Let’s be sure before his name is put to the table,” Axel states, then quickly plants the gavel on the table and dismisses everyone.
CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE
-:- BLAKE -:-
It’s Sunday morning and I can’t stop the smile that keeps appearing on my face. The date last night was good, I really do like Mav and I hope we can have more successful dates. We had talked a lot and got to know each other fairly well. Dancing had been nice too and unexpected. Who would have thought a biker could dance like that?
My phone makes a pinging noise and picking it up, I grin as I see it’s a message from Mav.
Mav: Morning, beautiful. Just wanted to say hi, let you know I dreamed about you last night.
Blake: Good morning, Mav. Well, I hope it was a good dream!
Mav: Oh, it was one of the best, and I had to jump in a cold shower so I could get some relief.
Blake: OMG, you didn’t just say that!
Mav: Oh, I did babe. I’ll tell you now, I think I’m going to be spending a lot of time in my shower.
Blake: I’m giggling here because I’m thinking you may get a cramp in your wrist if you are not careful.
Now, even though I’m in the house alone, I can’t help but blush a little at my response. I’m not normally that forward when it comes to talking about sex.
Mav: I’m sure I will and it will be all your fault.
Blake: Me? I did nothing.
Mav: No, you didn’t because you don’t have to. You are just perfect for me and I can’t wait to eventually take our relationship further.
Blake: We’ll see Lover-boy.
Mav: Lover boy, yeah, I like that. I’ll see you soon, beautiful.
