Elijah took another bite of his burger before looking at me. “Thea isn’t my mommy, Ms. Blair.”
He spotted a frog and quickly abandoned his meal to chase it back into the lake. I sat there, holding my chest and trying to figure out what he meant. While he was chasing the frog, I called Sim.
“What up, my love?”
“I need you to come home, baby.”
“I’m on my way.”

“That manprobably pissed all over himself,” Blair slurred as I carried her out to the awaiting truck. She smelled so fucking good that I was having a hard time remaining mad at her for being drunk out here like this.
In my mind, I saw her as mine and witnessing another nigga touching what was mine had me livid. As much as I wanted to do what I usually did, I was milder because my baby was right there.
She was so fucking stubborn as she looked at me with that cute fucking smirk, claiming that I didn’t like her. Blair ain’t even know that I loved her ass. I’ve been in love with her from the first moment I laid eyes on her at Capp and Alaia’s crib.
I knew what came with me, so I stayed away because the last thing I needed was to add her to my shit. I lived a life that not many people knew about, and I didn’t deserve to have thelove and happiness you saw in movies. At one point, I had that love and happiness, and it was taken from me.
Blair was all of that wrapped into one person and the thought of having her scared me. Kept me awake at night, because I wanted to keep her safe and love her at the same time. It wasn’t meant for me to do both. It was either protect or love her, and I chose to protect her.
“Why you get drunk like that, Blair?” I questioned as I slid her onto the back seat, and she scooted over while pop locking.
The driver looked at me and I shook my head. “You have to loosen up some, Simmy. Everyone drinks and has a good time in Miami,” she waved me off like it was nothing.
“Not everyone has chemo, Blair.”
She screwed her face up. “Boo! Don’t drag me out the club to remind me that I’m sick.”
The driver closed the door, and I leaned my head back on the headrest while closing my eyes. After everything that went down and getting right on the jet to come play spy with Blaze’s crazy ass, I was tired as shit.
“Not reminding you… you’re not supposed to be drinking that much.”
She sucked her teeth. “I can never have any fun… it’s always something that I can’t do.”
I pulled my phone out to check my messages, and she looked at me. “Simmy, can we take a picture? Let’s mark this memory as the time you called me sick.”
“I ain’t even say no shit like that,” I pulled my phone out of her hand, and she crawled over and slammed into my side, snatching my phone and positioning herself for the perfect selfie.
“Say cheese,” she ignored me as she snapped the picture, and then looked at it. “We look cute… too bad you scared of me.”
I looked at her. “Where the fuck you get that from?”
“Shhh!” she smudged her finger against my lip and leaned her head on my shoulder.
I kissed her finger as she yawned, and we remained quiet for the rest of the ride back to the hotel. She woke herself up with her snore as we pulled in front of the hotel.
“We’re here… you want me to carry you?”
“No, I can walk… I need to walk this dizziness off.”
I looked at her. “That’s the worst thing that you can do.”
She snorted loudly as I climbed out the back, and held her hand, making sure her ass didn’t pass out. Her feet in the heels she wore had me biting my bottom lip.
Each step she took made my dick grow harder for her. Blair didn’t understand how much I wanted her and dreamed of having her. She was a constant in my dreams when I closed my eyes. I wanted to learn her so I could love her better than any nigga in her past.
