I didn’t know what Elijah meant when he said Thea wasn’t his mother, but I was going to find out when I choke the life out that matted head bitch.

“Roy, is something wrong?” Alaia poked her head out with a hood over her hair. It was like she had a feeling her husband needed to see her.

“Come here, Joy.” He said, and she abandoned the front door, going to her husband. He pulled her into his arms and kissed the top of her hood as he held onto her.

“Baby, what is wrong? You are scar?—”

“Simmy,” I heard Blair’s voice, and turned to see her and Elijah standing there holding hands.

Neither of them allowed me to get up; they both came over and hugged me. Capone stood up and allowed them space to hold onto me. “I knew something wasn’t right with you when you left,” her voice shook as she held onto me, and Elijah was embracing me like I’d disappear if he let go.

I held them both tight as I closed my eyes, and the tears continued to fall. “Fucking out here crying in a driveway… fuck.” I groaned as I kept my eyes closed and Anjo kissed my cheek.

Capone stood nearby. “Eli, what was I telling you the other day?”

Eli lifted his head and scanned his head for what Capone was talking about. “You told me so much, Capo.”

Capone chuckled and looked down at his slipper before looking back at Elijah. “When you tripped over by the lake and started to cry.”

“Showing emotion. You can’t be a man without showing emotions… that’s what makes you, you. It’s what makes you strong.” Elijah replied.

“My man… every great man has shown emotion and the King Inferno ain’t an exception to the rule.”

I kissed his forehead and held onto both of them while we sat on the floor in the driveway. I never wanted to let either of them to go, however, I had to let go for a second because I needed my hands to fuck over whoever hurt my family.

Blair

Elijah was soexcited to go swimming in the lake with Erin and Alaia today. They gathered all the kids and were going to take them out to the lake while we handled some business. Once I finished getting ready, I sprayed my perfume and then continued downstairs where Simmy was waiting for me.

We were going to meet up with his uncle and the Del Devils. I was just excited that I was getting out the house because I just knew he was going to make me stay behind. He had always been protective of me, but since the fire, he was ten times more protective.

He was standing at the bottom of the stairs, wearing his biker vest, jeans, and a fresh pair of timbs. To know the Inferno and Delgato men was to know that they went through timbs like underwear. Every time I looked at Quasim, both my heart and vagina did a slight jump. I’ve wanted this man since the moment I met him, and he showed me simple kindness when I needed it most. It wasn’t just any sort of kindness; his attention made me feel seen and valued.

It was a kindness reserved for a wife, and it was one he extended to only me whenever he was around me.

“My hair wouldn’t act right… this stupid piece keeps poking up.” I complained as I came down the stairs.

He kissed my lips. “You look perfect, my love.”

“Thank you. Are you okay?” I touched the side of his face and peered into his eyes. The Inferno men had this thing their eyes did.

They were ominous and dangerous. You could actually see the danger swirling around in their irises, but the moment they looked at the ones they loved, it went away. Very few could claim they’d experienced that change. It was reserved only for those they truly loved and respected.

“Yeah… I got you something.”

“A gift and I get to finally leave the house… we’re full of surprises today.” I joked as he pulled me behind him, sitting me on the stool while he went into the closet on the main level.

I watched as he grabbed something and then hid it behind his back so I couldn’t see what it was. He stood in front of me and I hugged him, leaning my head on his chest. I lifted my head to look up at him, and was captivated by the way he stared down into my eyes.

He looked at me as if I was his entire world and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for me. He rubbed his thumb down my chin. “I need you to know how much I love you, Blair.”

It was rare that he used my actual name. Since Miami, I had been Anjo to him, and it was a name I cherished. The only time I hated when he called me that, was when we were beefing with each other. “I know, Simmy.”

“It took me a minute to admit it to you, but you know you have my heart. You’ve always had my heart. I want you to know that the shit I have to do, there’s no other way around it… I have to be this person because they brought disrespect to me… my future wife. The future Queen Inferno, and the future King Inferno. I cannot allow that shit to slide.”

I rubbed his face. “Simmy, I know what I signed up for when I fell in love with you. As your future wife, I want to protect you like you protect me, and I know what comes with this life. You won’t ever see any judgment coming from me, baby. Is thisourfamily?”

He kissed my lips a few times and grabbed me up to sit me on the counter. “You know it is, my love,” he kissed my neck and was trying to take my shirt off.
