He stared at me. “What do you mean?”

“When the baby comes, I think you might be obsessed with it and never want to spend time with us… then you’ll be busy with CJ and Ryder and too cool for us.”

I watched a smile appear on his face. “Not true, Anjo.”

He fell back as I tickled him. “Uh huh… you’ll be too cool for me and Sim. We’ll have to make an appointment just to see you.”

I laughed as he rolled around laughing while I tickled him. “I’m gonna pee…. I’m gonna pee,” he hopped up in a fit of giggles and ran into his bathroom.

Quasim watched us and pulled me into his arms. “You a damn good mama, my love.”

I smiled and looked at him. “Gonna be… this baby ain’t here yet.”

He kissed my head. “Anjo, you’re a mama. I know you don’t say it because it’s painful, but you are a mother, and it doesn’t matter that your son isn’t here.”

I looked up into his eyes as the tears slid down my face and kissed his lips. “Thank you, baby. We have to protect him.”

“I have to protect y’all.” He kissed my head and placed his hand on my stomach, as I leaned my head back onto him.

“Well, I do have another situation, and he said he’ll protect me, too.” I joked to lighten the mood.

As I stared up at him, he looked down at me. “You ever been to a Luther Vandross concert?”

I looked at him confused. “Baby, he’s dead…Luther been dead for years….”

“Stop playing with me, Anjo.” He winked.

We wereall in place as they made a line for me to ride through. Every time I passed a Goddess; she turned out the line and followed behind me. I passed Kiki, she turned off and was on my side. When I passed Marley and Capri, they did the same.

Capri took the head with Aimee on her bike, Kiki on my left and Fawn, Yasin and Havoc’s mom, on my right with Marley at the back. The king rode in the middle as the goddesses surrounded me.

They all had matching skull helmets on, and one blue glove on their right hand, while the Gods had one red on their left – two colors that made up a flame.

The symbolism of the blue in a flame was purity and precision, which is what our Goddesses were. Then the red came in and symbolized intensity, passion, and destruction for the Gods.

Capri saluted her husband as she passed him, riding me out front. In front of us, the rest of the Gods were surrounding the truck with my Queen inside of it. She was hell bent on going and wasn’t trying to hear shit.

Hassan told me he got her, and I trusted him. Desmond pulled out next to my father because this was personal when it came to Red.

As much as Capone wanted to ride, we respected his wife. She wanted him with her on the flight to Barbados, so they were heading to the airport to fly out with the kids, Jean, Gams, and Mommy. Blaze took the lead with Cappadonna to his right, Havoc riding on his left.

Capella drove his truck with Alaia in the passenger seat next to him. Cappadonna was trying to send her with Erin and Capone, and she wasn’t going for any of it. It was personal for everybody because they had come for us.

Shooting the bed of my niece was a big fucking no, and I already showed him I wasn’t to be fucked with. I’ve never been the type of nigga that was satisfied, so I had to double it.

Alaia knew how to handle herself and with Capella with her, I knew he would protect her. His father knew it, too, which is why he put her with him. Capri and Aimee were put on his truck to make sure that she was always good for Capp’s peace of mind.

Hassan turned the truck off the block, and I saw her face, she was confused. No sooner than that truck made the turn, her name came across my screen.

“Simmy, you promised me!” She yelled into the phone.

I closed my eyes. “The only promise I intend to break when it comes to you. Baby, I can’t do me knowing that you out here with me.”

“Capri is out there… I’ve been practicing… I can do it, too. She taught me.” She pleaded with me, and my heart broke; she wanted to ride for her family.
