I promised Blair and Elijah that I was coming behind them and that wasn’t a promise I was breaking to either of them.

All you hadto do was call and Menace Caselli was going to come through every time. We all dropped our bikes and shit off at a few scattered warehouses he had close to us. Blaze, Goon, and Cappadonna went one way. While me, Aimee, Capri, Capella, and Alaia went another way with Core.

He pulled that big ass truck into the warehouse, and we dropped those burner bikes off, and were whisked away in a black SUV version of the same truck that Core was just driving. The driver got us to the airport, and we waited in the lounge for the rest of them.

Soon as we were at the lounge, I sat down and said a quick prayer. I hadn’t heard from my brother or pops yet, and I needed to know they were good. Capella grabbed his wife and kissed her lips as he hugged her.

“You a badass, Aim.”

Capri and Alaia were nervous as they both paced in front of the window waiting. “You think they are alright?” Alaia questioned.

“They’re fine,” she tried to convince her sister-in-law, but she was trying to convince herself, too.

I sat back and waited because I knew they were good. Blaze was always going to be good. That nigga had been wiggling himself out of shit for as long as I could remember. No shit like this was going to get him caught up.

Two SUVs pulled up, and Blaze hopped out the front while Goon and Cappadonna got out the back. My father and Des both got out the second one, and they headed inside.

Capri and Alaia both ran to their husbands and kissed them, as they hugged and kissed them back. Cappadonna kissed his wife, which was rare for him to do in front of us. That’s how I knew his ass was worried about her.

“I’m good and you good… now we go and sit on the beach with the kids, ight?”

She nodded her head as she hugged him. “Okay.”

He held her chin up. “I let you get this out your system, Joy. I don’t like it… no more, okay?”

She kissed his lips and hugged him. “No more.”

The women knew how to protect themselves because of the life that we lived. Did we willingly want to put them in harm’s way with shit like this?

Nah.

However, I knew that Alaia had wanted to do this, and since Cappadonna could never tell her no, he allowed her this time. I understood what he was going through because it was the same shit I would have been feeling if I had allowed Blair to stay.

I felt guilty for lying to her, but I never regretted the decision to send her away.

Capri kissed Blaze as he hugged her tightly. “Sug, that fucking aim is impeccable.”

She smiled. “Really?”

“Baby Doll, that shit is fucking chilling… the way you lined that one nigga up and hit him perfectly.”

“Suga cane, you were phenomenal…never been prouder to see you out there holding your own. You, too, Drooly.”

Aimee laughed as Capella kissed her head. “You drool one time and now you have that nickname.”

“Aim, you wet the whole arm of the couch.” Capella called her out.

She shoved him away and went over to Cappadonna. They did a handshake and he pulled her into a hug. “Pops, what you think?”

“Think you killed shit per usual… you been around Baby Doll too much cause that aim is something serious.”

I cleared my throat. “I went and saw you… you ain’t think to tell me that you were coming home?”

Goon smirked as he walked over toward me, and we embraced. “You ain’t think I would miss seeing my guy get married?”

“How the fuck?”

“Shit with my old parole officer is about to get wicked, and Ms. Lawyer had a friend of hers pull some strings… some shit about a power dynamic, and I shouldn’t have served time since I got the permission to travel from my parole officer. She spun that shit so crazy that I started feeling like the fucking victim for real.”
