“With his parole officer suing the city, they don't want any more cases, and Goon could sue the city if he wanted. It was cheaper to free him since he only had a little bit left on his sentence, rather than having to pay him in a lawsuit.”
“You know she flew in this morning for the wedding, right?” Capri said, as she leaned her head on Blaze.
Goon smirked. “Been a minute since I saw Ms. Lawyer… she still thick as shit?”
“Gerald, please,” Aimee said.
I shook my head, as we got ready to board the jet. Corleon couldn’t make it, but he made sure we got to the airport. He had other prior shit going on and I respected that. Despite having shit going on, he still popped out and came through.
I looked at the screensaver of me and Anjo in Miami and closed my eyes, waiting until she was in my arms again.
Lucia
I leanedup in my bed with my face mask on, looking at the destruction that had unfolded in front of me. It was something out of a movie. I almost questioned if this was the news, or if I was watching a movie.
“A funeral procession turned deadly as gunfire erupted on the highway. The highway had to be shut down because of the turned over hearses with bodies inside of them. Authorities confirm that the shootout was between multiple individuals on motorcycles, shutting down traffic and leaving multiple people dead. Tanks flipped the hearses, leaving the drivers unable to get out. We’re working hard to pull footage up; however, authorities are having trouble pulling footage from nearby cameras. Law enforcement has not yet released details on suspects or motives, but they are urging anyone with information to come forward. They are working to figure out if this is a targeted attack.”
“No fucking shit, Sherlock,” I grumbled, as I whipped my favorite heated blanket from my legs and got out the bed.
No sooner than I was about to call him, his name popped up on my phone. “Tyshawn, what the fuck is going on? You claimthat you wanted to take over and link with the devils… do you see what the fuck they did to that highway?”
“You fucking think we knew they were coming like that?”
Tyshawn had always been Rich’s little cousin that he kept around because he felt bad. His father was a junkie, and the boy needed guidance. He tried to lead him the right way and show him how to make something of himself.
Every time he tried to get him to do right, the boy always did wrong and then blamed everyone else for his problems. Rich had no choice but to distance himself from his cousin and step up and call the shots.
He allowed him to run around with his chest poked out like he ran shit, when in reality, nothing moved without Rich making the call. Tyshawn always wanted to be a leader and could never lead. I guess that is what happened when you were a damn junkie. Once upon a time, he had a girlfriend he was serious about. I don’t know what happened to that situation because he switched them like draws.
They never stayed around long because once they figured out the boy had anger issues, loved to get high, and he had hand problems, they realized he was more trouble than he was worth.
Even before Rich was murdered, we didn’t deal with him. All he had was one job and that was to link with the Del Devils and bring King Inferno to his knees. He took my husband away from me, then went and burned him to crisps.
I still had nightmares when I thought about how Rich looked before we buried him. He was in that coffin looking like Tiffany from ‘Seed of Chucky’. As angry as I was with him before he passed, he didn’t deserve that. It was up to me to continue going on and picking up where he left off.
The reason that we lived comfortably was because of what Rich was involved in. It was the reason we all lived decently, and with both him and Morgan gone, everything was on my back. Iknew the district attorney was connected to the Inferno Gods, but she didn’t know who I was.
Each time I tried to schedule some time with her assistant, she told me she would get back to me. I’ve been waiting for weeks to sit down with her, and I still hadn’t heard back. I was starting to think that littleputawas doing it on purpose.
I took matters into my own hands and showed up, pretending like I was in the neighborhood. God had been on my side because she happened to be talking to her assistant when I entered the office.
Her facial expression was stoic, and she was hard to read. I’ve been paying attention, and just because she was young and beautiful, didn’t mean she gave anybody any grace. It was floating around that she was strict and ran a tight ship.
She didn’t want me in her office, or to have a sit down, but she couldn’t toss me out. As she welcomed me in her office, I tried to make any kind of connection with her. Something that we would connect with, and she could let down her walls with me.
I tried to look for baby pictures or something that I could use, and her office had nothing. All she had was pictures of work commitments, and degrees on her wall. Nothing that let me know who she really was.
Of course, I knew she was an Inferno because of the case she had opened against the Jersey Police department, and the fact that Red sent the devils into her home. I’ve known Red for years, and he’s always been quiet.
When King Inferno killed Polo’s brother, he let the dam break and decided to go after his own blood. I’ve known about all the motorcycle gangs for years, and knew who I could trust after Rich was taken from me.
It was better to get in good with her. She would lead me to where that fucking bastard was, and I could get rid of him and Thea at the same time.
“Bitch, you hung up on me?” Tyshawn hollered.
I looked at the phone. “How does this look like you’re handling things? Tell me, how does this look like things are being handled?”
“Just cause you ask the question twice doesn’t mean I’m gonna have an answer. Polo’s fucking mother and sister are spread all over the highway. Do you think he has answers?”
