As he leaned forward to taste her ice cream, she shoved her cone in his face and took off running.

“That was for standing me up, AJ!” she called back to him.

“That’s two I owe you!” he retorted in disbelief as he jumped up off the bench and chased after her.

Oh dear, Lisa. We’re definitely going to need to work on your stamina for all that I have planned for you.

When he caught up to her, he picked her up and spun her round. “Ok, I deserved that,” he told her.

“Yes, you did!”

“Wanna watch a movie?” he asked as they started back towards the car.

Then I can figure out how to have my way with you…

“Only if I get to choose!” she replied grinning.

“Deal.”

Walking back to the car, he felt relaxed and comfortable.

Jeremy: You sure you don’t need an instructional diagram? I’m sure there’s a ‘how to’ video I could send you.

AJ: That’s porn, Jer. Don’t you even think about sending me porn.

Jeremy: You sure? I’m sure I could rustle something up.

AJ: I hate you.

Jeremy: Get off your phone and go get off.

AJ rolled his eyes.

“Everything ok?” she asked, raising her eyebrow as he opened the car door for her.

“Oh. It’s just Jeremy. He thinks he’s funny. He’s really not.”

“You two have such a strange relationship.”

“Ain’t that the truth.”

At home, he put on some music and poured drinks for them both. She kicked off her shoes and lay on the sofa. She lifted her head for him to sit down and rested it on his lap when he was settled. As she sipped her drink, he asked “Picked a film yet?” running his fingers through her hair as it lay across his thigh.

How did I get so lucky?he breathed deeply.

‘Cause you lied about your marital status.

Shaking her head, she stifled a yawn. “Nope,” setting her glass down. “Where’s your room?” she asked suddenly.

“Over there,” he pointed, looking surprised.

Is this how it happens these days? Girl demands bedroom. Boy jumps and runs to bedroom. Girl and boy get naked. I mean, I’m definitely digging the assertiveness… Don’t look too eager.
