Looking up, she saw Pirate was equally amused. “Jazz says there’s a storm coming.”

Pirate nodded. “I heard the thunder. Based on the radar, we should be able to leave now and go grab my cage before the rain starts.”

Sophia scowled. “Does everyone know how to read a fucking radar map?”

Pirate laughed and pulled her down from the stool. “It’s kinda one of the things we’re taught in the military.”

“Jazz wasn’t in the military,” Sophia argued.

“No, but I did go to college,” Jasmine tossed back at her.

“Iwent to college,” Sophia defended.

Jasmine made a face. “Yeah, but did you really pay attention?”

Sophia opened her mouth to rebut, paused, and then let out a defeated sigh. “Fair point.”

Everyone laughed.

Pirate helped Sophia put on her new coat. Bending down, he pressed his lips to her earlobe. “Have I told you how fucking hot you look in that?”

“Twice as you were fucking me in it,” she answered slyly. When Sophia had modeled the new coat for him at the store, Pirate took full advantage of the slit in the back of the trench coat by bending her over the dressing room’s bench, hiking down her leggings, and fucking her from behind while she tried to keep from screaming and alerting the entire store that they were having sex in the changing room.

“You know what they say about third time’s the charm,” he quipped. Turning to the others, Pirate announced, “We’re heading out. Going to swap out the hog for my cage at the apartment. Do you need anything while we’re there?”

Jumper and Jasmine shook their heads. “We’ll be leaving soon too,” Jumper told him. “See you over there.”

The brothers did that universal guy-chin lift thing that Sophia was half convinced was a conspiracy amongst men. Did they teach the chin lift in Sex Ed when they separated the boys and the girls?

In mockery, Sophia and Jasmine also did a chin lift at each other. Neither one ended up being able to keep a straight face though.

Pirate rolled his eyes and put his arm around Sophia’s shoulders to guide her out of the clubhouse. “Come on, tough guy. Let’s get going.”

That only made Sophia and Jasmine laugh harder.

Pirate and Sophiawere able to make it back to the apartment building before the rain started to fall. It was just a light drizzle, but Pirate was grateful they’d left when they did. He didn’t like the idea of Sophia being out in the rain like that. April showers could still be pretty cold and he didn’t want her to get chilled or sick.

Sophia got into his Charger while Pirate secured tarps over his hog and Jumper’sIndian. Both could get wet, but that didn’t mean they should.

Pirate took off his cut and got into the Charger. He took a long look up at the darkening sky. “I know Jazz had her heart set on an outdoor wedding but I don’t know. Even if it stops raining in time, the ground might not be able to take all the chairs and decor. We might be standing in mud.”

Sophia smiled widely at him and leaned in close to say, “I’ll let you in on a little secret. By now, Jazz just wants to get married. She doesn’t care how or where. Frankly, I’m of thesame mindset. Weddings are a lot of work. Too many people care about their famed Wedding Day and not about their marriage.”

He turned his face to lean over the center console. “Are you saying when we get married for real that you don’t want a big party? Skywriting proclaiming your love for me and a hot air balloon to carry us away to our destination honeymoon? A thousand doves released into the picture perfect blue sky?”

Sophia snorted. “Fuck no. We’re going back to that pirate ship in San Fran. Only this time, you’ll have your peg leg on, pirate hat, and eye patch. And I’ll be in some slutty bar wench outfit because I do not look good in white.”

Pirate grinned. “Sounds like fun.”

He was about to turn towards the wheel when she said suggestively, “You know, I’m kinda disappointed we can’t take your bike.”

Pirate was no fool. He knewexactlywhat that lilt in her voice meant. Even as it heated his blood and made his cock twitch in his pants, he fought to keep his face blank and say as innocently as he could, “Yeah, me too.”

“Because,” she went on, looking at him through half lidded eyes, “I bought something else that I wanted to model for you from adifferentstore.”

Pirate raised an eyebrow. His heart thrummed loudly in his chest in anticipation. But he also knew Sophia, and being the minx that she was, there was a possibility she was teasing him and had bought some weird hair barrettes from the convenience store. “You can model anything you like for me.”

“Put your seat all the way back.”
