All I knew, was life was chaotic and I was lost without Creed. It made me wonder how I lived for so long without him.
Out Of Control
Josh
“Any chatter last night about Creed’s squadron?” I asked as I sat in the daily original’s meeting.
“Not a peep, but this is Creed we’re talking about, he’s too smart to fuck up. I’ve contacted the Pentagon and so far General Lewis isn’t taking my calls, which is unusual. General Pendleton is balls deep in this from my best guess and Lewis probably knows more than he should. This isn’t just going dark, they’ve went pitch black.” Axton answered.
I was so damn frustrated. “Creed’s trying to take out a terrorist cell that’s on the fast track to becoming larger than Isis. We’re a team and we should be there with him. I wouldn’t fucking doubt it if Pendleton wanted all of us, but Creed turned him off it. He's trying to go at it alone to protect us, and they must be close if they’ve gone dark this fast.”
“They won't legally call us back up because of our separation dates, but that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t have come to us and asked for volunteers, or forced our hand somehow. Creed knew we would step up, so I’m not sure what he offered in order to keep us out of it. Just because I knew he was serving doesn’t mean he told me everything. We cant be for sure its about this newest terrorist group.” Axton said.
“What has your panties in a bunch? You’ve been a bear all morning.” Drakos questioned.
“I’m fine.” I snapped at him.
“Is it the photo shoot?” Axton asked.
“I don’t know how Creed dealt with Morgan. She’s emotional all the time, she’s stubborn as hell, and always tired and bitchy. I can’t do anything right. She got mad at me last night because I didn’t use a coaster for my beer on the back patio.”
Bolton looked way too annoyed for my comfort. “Maybe it’s because you tried to take all her jewelry away from her, made her photo shoot a living hell, and won’t let her have any privacy with a friend that traveled from California to see her. Oh, lets not forget smothering her constantly. Creed wanted her to experience the freedom of Creed’s Lake, but you’re taking that away from her.”
“First of all, that pansy ass Jake Meadows has no business in the bedroom she shares with Creed. Secondly, that photo shoot was all but innocent. Creed wouldn’t have been happy, and the Cartel has made its presence up north well known, so she needs protection.” I defended myself.
“The cartel has no problem with Morgan and our identity is safe. They don’t know what we’ve done, and Creed made it clear we are to stay out of it. If either MC’s need help we will call the state police Superintendent and work something out. As far as the photo shoot, she knows the boundaries set in their relationship. You cannot control her career. As far as her emotions you need to stop and think what she’s been through. She left her career, lost her best friend, she’s raising Addie, andCreed is on an extremely dangerous deployment. Give her a break for awhile.” Bolton said.
“Speaking of Morgan, she and Stephanie are baking today for the fireman’s festival. We already know they’re working Layne McCool’s booth as a favor to Darren on Friday and Saturday. How heavy do we want their security detail since we’ll already be helping out the state police.” Granger asked.
It was vital to us that Layne would win the election for Sheriff. Darren’s final term was almost over, and we worked closely with McCool. He was Darren’s sidekick and already knew what we were and what we did. If he lost the election to Pete Marcum we were screwed. Most likely he would come sniffing around and there would be no favors granted to protect our secrets.
We worked all that out and I had to finish up a case before going to a meeting with Axton and Darren. The Fallen Angels had been updating us on the Mexican gangs the cartel sent to pester The Devil’s Rejects. Axton already spoke with Sniper and suggested dismantling their Indiana chapter and joining their other chapters for awhile. All we wanted was peace, but Sniper made a good point. If he left, the community around them would be sitting ducks. They needed his protection and Sniper seemed to be a pretty smart guy so far.
The main issues with Morgan working a booth at the festival would have been the paparazzi, any crazy fans after her blockbuster movie that just released, and the MC’s in the area. We already had a war between the MC the cartel sent up and the Devil’s Rejects, but the Fallen Angel’s were Allies. Mix all that together and we had a mess. Darren stepped up patrol and they sent some State boys from Versailles and Sellersburg. We also had a heavy presence, and it was all being coordinated byDarren and Doug, the state police Superintendent. We wanted to prevent any mass incidents, but also kept our eyes and ears open for any drug transactions. There was a heavier state police focus on Southern Indiana because the drugs the cartel were sending up were deadly and they were experiencing a lot more overdoses than usual a little to our north but south of Indianapolis. We had to keep those drugs out of Sinclair County. The Cartel wasn’t giving up on Sniper. They wanted him to keep his father’s drug runs going, but Sniper wanted to keep moving forward with his plans for the MC. God only knew what kind of illegal shit he would do instead, we were better off left in the dark with those plans. Axton and Creed felt otherwise. They wanted to know everything that was happening around us.
Morgan
Josh stepped into the kitchen at the community center and his eyes were as big as saucers. “Jesus Christ, how many pies do you need?” He looked at all of us, then his eyes landed on me. “What else have you done? These aren’t just pies.”
Felicity and her girls were helping bake and I took the day off to prepare for the fireman’s festival in Clarity. So far, we had 87 pies, forty trays of brownies, and twenty cakes. We just started making cookies and we had to be done before the cooks came to make dinner. Each of us did some at home in the morning, but we took over the kitchen after lunch. We still had more to do at home later. We were just able to knock out a bunch using the community kitchen.
“A lot and we’re not done yet. This isn’t just for the booth, it’s for the dinners Friday and Saturday night.” I answered.
He scratched his head. “I thought you were just baking for the raffle.”
I stood with my hand on my hip glaring at him. “You know there’s more to the Hans and Franz duo than just Uncle Darren. I’m helping the other half as well.”
“Oh, damn I forgot your dad is the fire chief. So, how are we transporting all this tomorrow?” He still looked shocked.
“Well, since we have those super suspicious vans, some prospects, and two mini Creed’s we’ve got it covered. How about you help Kelly box these up so we can get the cookies done and get out of the kitchen staff’s way?”
“Where’s Addie?” He asked.
I rolled my eyes. “Where is she every day at 3pm?” He annoyed me to no end.
“Oh yeah, Nikko training with Melissa.” He walked over and started putting the boxes together with Kelly.
I was exhausted and just wanted to get it done and go home. Unfortunately, I couldn’t go straight home because I had to stop and see Zoey and she didn’t come home from work for another few hours. “Don’t forget I am meeting with Zoey in a few hours and the girls will be home alone.” I reminded him.
