“Our reservation is for 6:30 p.m., so we should leave here at 6:15 p.m.”
I nod, still a little stunned by all the effort he’s put into this weekend. It seems like to much to just check items off my list.
“Sounds good,” I say as I walk over to where he is sitting on the edge of the bed. I step between his legs, and wrap my arms around his neck. He tilts his head back to look at me.
“Thank you for bringing me this weekend Josh,” I say, leaning down and kissing him softly. He wraps his arms around my waist, pulling me further into him.
My fingers grip the hair at the back of his head, and I lean into him more. His tongue licks at the seam of my lips. I open for him. His tongue works to taste every inch of my mouth. I moan into the kiss as his right hand tightly grips my ass.
I break the kiss, working to catch my breath and rest my forehead against his.
“I should probably get ready.” I smile at him.
“Yeah,” he says, but neither of us makes a move to separate from one another. I stand there staring into his beautiful green eyes. There are flecks of brown that float around the deep emerald rings. I lean down and give him a quick peck before slowly removing myself from between his legs. Josh looks at me with a playful frown on his face.
“I’m going to get ready, and then we will go to dinner,” I say as I head to my bag. I grab my make-up bag and hair straightener from inside and head into the washroom.
“I have a quick errand to run babe, I’ll be back before we have to leave. I have my phone if you need me.” He meets me in the washroom and gives me a swift kiss before heading out of the hotel room.
Once I hear the click of the hotel door, I grab my phone, open the group chat with the girls, and hit the video call button, calling all three of them. While it rings, I plug in my hair straightener and turn it on.
Hannah answers first, “Hey girl!” Then Zoey and Eliza answer.
“Hey guys!” I say when all their faces appear on my phone screen.
“Aren’t you supposed to be in Whistler with your boyfriend?” Zoey asks, her brows pinched together in confusion.
“I am. He had to go out for an errand quickly and I am getting ready for the dinner reservation he made us.”
Grabbing my phone, I make my way toward the window in our bedroom and flip the camera. “Look at this view that he got us. We are in an actual suite with a living room and a separate bedroom.”
I pan over the view from our bedroom window and head back into the washroom before propping my phone up against the bottom of the mirror. I separate my hair and use the straightener to curl my hair.
“He went all out,” Liz says, her voice is soft.
“Yeah, this room is really nice, and he made a reservation for dinner somewhere nice enough that he is wearing suit pants and a button down. I’m not sure what our plans are for the rest of the weekend.”
“Josh will probably have it all planned out. Don’t worry about it. Enjoy it,” Hannah says.
“Yeah, I’m glad that I packed something that I could wear to dinner tonight, though. He didn’t say anything before we left.” Josh left the plans for this weekend a secret. I planned clothes for some walking around, figuring we wouldn’t be driving around the village.
“Well, what did he say when you asked him what to wear tonight?” Liz asks.
“He said that I could wear whatever I want to.”
The girls are all silent on the other end of the call. I can hear the wheels turning in all of their heads, but no one says anything, so I ask, “What?”
“Nothing, babe.” Zoey pauses and a soft smile crosses her face. “Just, that’s nice.”
“We should let you go. Have fun this weekend, we will catch up this week. Take lots of pictures for us,” Liz says.
“Will do, bye.”
“Have fun. Bye,” Hannah and Zoey say before they all hang up.
I put some music on and finish working on my hair and makeup. Moving back into the bedroom, I grab a change of clothes and bring them into the washroom with me closing the door. I know Josh saw me naked on Monday, and I’ve slept beside him this week, but I still don’t feel completely comfortable with him seeing me naked, especially in the harsh light of the hotel room. When I was with Drew, I was only naked in front of him in complete darkness. I was never comfortable exposing myself in the harshness of light. He was always making comments about how I needed to take better care of myself, go to the gym, and eat healthier. I’m realizing more and more just how much he slowly chipped away at my self-confidence over the years.
I change into a black pencil skirt and a teal blouse, tucking it into my skirt and pulling it up just a bit so that it folds over the top of my pencil skirt, which sits at my waist. I touch up my perfume and head into the bedroom to change into black flats.
