“Yes. . . .”

“Does that mean Bradley and Tammy will be there?”

After looking at the itinerary this morning, I know they will be. “Yeah, they will.”

“So wouldn’t it make sense that we are working together, since they think we are supposed to be dating?”

“Yes, but I don’t want anyone else thinking something is going on between us.”

“I don’t think they will,” says Niall.

“And why is that?”

“After karaoke at the Hurdy-Gurdy last night, no one said anything to me. And if they didn’t say anything about it last night, I doubt they will over cupcake decorating.”

“True. It does make sense for us to be partners with Bradley and Tammy being there. I guess you’re right.”

Niall’s grin grows slightly, and his eyes seem to sparkle with amusement. “Did you just say I was right?”

I try to glare at him. “No.”

“Well then,” says Niall, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes, “I guess it’s settled. At the cupcake decorating class, we will put on the best show.”

We run in silence for a few more minutes. But I’m getting nervous about Greg and Trent getting curious about Niall and I spending so much alone time together. I don’t need them getting in the middle of our pretend relationship and messing things up. “You should probably catch up with the guys,” I say. “I don’t want them getting suspicious of us.”

“Right,” says Niall. “I don’t want to stir up suspicions. See you in class.” Niall waves and takes off in a sprint to catch up with the guys.

I try to keep my same rhythmic pace, but watching Niall’s butt as he runs throws it off and ruins my whole plan to clear my headduring this run.

Chapter 20

Niall

When I knock on the door adjoining Gwen’s and my rooms, I wait for a beat before Gwen opens it. She looks beautiful in a yellow skirt and a white shirt tied in a knot, giving off a brief view of her stomach. My hand itches to reach out, to touch her, to pull her close to me so I can feel the softness of her. Just the thought of touching her causes my body to react.

Taking control of where my mind is going, I say, “You look perfect.”

She instantly blushes, a light pink brightening her sun-kissed skin.

“Well, you don’t look so bad yourself,” she replies, her eyes roaming over me.

I feel the grin breaking out across my face at her attention. “Since I’ll be your cupcake decorating partner, I thought we’d walk there together.”

Nodding, she slips her phone into her pocket and slides her sea pass lanyard around her neck. Not wanting anyone to be suspicious if they see us leaving the same room together, I step back into my room and close our adjoining door. With our friends having rooms right next to ours, it would be way too easy to run into the others.

Gwen and I meet in the hallway, then we make our way to the class. I can feel my nerves running, no, rampaging around inside me.What the feck is going on with me? We’re just walking together, and my insides are going crazy.

I smile when I notice Bradley and Tammy are in the class. I’m happy my excuse is confirmed. Time to play boyfriend.

After we meet up with the others, we partner up for the class.

“Sully,” says Trent, “want to be partners?”

Greg shakes his head at Trent and motions toward Gwen.

“Oh, right,” says Trent.

“I was actually thinking the same as Greg,” I tell Trent. “With these two here,” I motion slightly toward Tammy and Bradley, “maybe this would be a sound time for me to hang out with Gwen. Let some of my Sully energy help them not ruin the class for her.”
