That was the kind of person I wanted to be. That was the kind of person I wanted to be with... forever.
A New Beginning
Sky
It might have been the best night of sleep I'd ever had in my life, all snuggled up against Kieran in my own bed. I mean, his bed was fantastic, but we usually ended up spreading apart over the course of the night. In my small bed, though, we had no choice but to stick together.
Looking at Kieran's large body right up against the wall, I did feel a little bad that he didn't have much room. But hopefully, that would be remedied soon because I was ready to make this boy all mine again.
Sneaking out of bed as quietly as possible, I headed to the bathroom, leaving the squeaky door open so I didn't wake him. But by the time I was brushing my teeth, it was too late.
I heard Kieran get out of bed, and a second later, his sleepy head appeared in the doorway. "Hey," he said as I kept brushing.
"Hmmmph," I answered, finally spitting out my toothpaste. I handed him his toothbrush, grinning at him. "You might want to brush your teeth, babe."
He raised a lone eyebrow, looking at me with surprise. "Okay."
Staring at him, I watched as he brushed, and he stared right back. I could practically see the smoke coming out of his ears as he contemplated what was going on. But he would soon find out.
When he was done, he wiped his mouth with a washcloth. "So good morning?" he said, looking so damn cute in the mirror.
"Good morning." I smiled at him. "How do you feel today?"
Smiling back, he said, "Much, much better."
"Good."
"I guess I just needed to talk to you about it all, and it was driving me crazy not to. You're my—"
Giving him one of my favorite moves, I nudged him with my hip. "I'm your what?"
I turned to face him rather than looking at his reflection, and he did the same, his face deadly serious all the sudden.
Finally, he spoke again. "You're my best friend."
Oh, my freaking God. My heart couldn't even handle it. I moved forward so my toes were on his feet, and I grabbed both of his hands. "Will you walk us backwards?" I asked.
His grin lit up his eyes. "Sure. Where to?"
As he moved us out of the bathroom, I told him exactly where to go. "Back to the bed, baby."
I saw his Adam's apple move up and down as he swallowed. "The bed?"
"Yes, the bed, please." While he walked us in tandem, I stared into his eyes so I wouldn't miss his reaction to the rest of my words. "Because I'm about to devour you."
His legs hit the bed hard right then, and I let out a giggle as he stumbled a little then caught himself. I shoved him backward to show him where I wanted him. As his head fell onto the pillows, the look on his face blew me away like he was already in complete ecstasy, and we hadn't even started anything.
Getting on the bed myself, I put my legs on either side of his body and leaned forward to whisper in his ear. "I missed you so much."
His big body shuddered, and I couldn't believe how amazing it felt between us already. Last night had cleared up so much of the craziness, making my heart come alive with love for him once again.
Oh, my God. Love. Had I really just thought that? I'd have to think about that later. Right now, I was determined to show Kieran with my body how much I wanted him and how much I cared about him.
"I missed you too," Kieran said, his arms coming around me, so incredibly tight. "More than you could possibly know."
For a moment, we breathed together, my face in the crook of his neck, inhaling his scent, the amazing way he always smelled to me, making my mouth water. Eventually, I pulled back to look at his face, to see what he was thinking as the morning light came in through the cracks in the blinds.
His eyes were all sultry, taking me way back to that night when he'd finally given methe look. Sitting up, he brushed his thumb over my jawline. "Are you sure?" he asked.
