They both laughed again while I fought the murderous urges pulsing through me. For fuck's sake, what was going on?

"You guys want a slice or two?" Amir asked.

"Sure," Sky said, glancing at me, her eyes going wide when she saw my face. "Um, Kieran?"

"No, thank you," I growled, taking in her stunned expression as we stared at each other.

Clueless Amir opened the lid of the top box. "Here you go," he said.

Clearing her throat, Sky looked away from me, grabbing two slices of the pizza.

"Oh, and napkins," Amir said, pulling out a few from his coat pocket.

"Thank you," Sky said, taking them from him as I watched her, my mind whirling like a hurricane.

"Well, I'm sure it's just a little tiff and it won't be long before we're spending the night together again," the punk said.

Smiling, Sky rolled her eyes. "Can't wait."

With a laugh, Amir turned and headed down the hall, leaving me reeling.

Sky turned to me, a big grin on her face. "Come on, Kier. I think I have some explaining to do. It's not what you think. Okay?"

I nodded, deadly curious as to what she had to say. So I followed her to the end of the hall, where she opened the door to a large room filled with chairs, a few tables, and two couches.

"The study lounge?" I asked, something clicking in my mind.

"Yep, my new second home," she said, tossing the blankets down on the couch and sitting near them. She patted the spot next to her. "Please..."

I sat down and she held up a slice to me in a silent peace offering. Because I was already feeling better, suspecting what Sky was going to tell me, I took it and bit into it as she did the same.

Handing me a napkin, she started to talk. "So Amir and I both end up sleeping in here most nights, obviously on separate couches."

I exhaled, relief flooding through me at her words.

"There was only one couch in here, and he brought up another one so neither of us has to sleep in a chair."

Just as I started to calm down, a jolt of anger shot through me. "You've had to sleep in a chair before?"

She nodded. "It's not a big deal."

"I think it's a big deal. You can't really get any sleep like that."

Shrugging, she took a sip of water but didn't say anything.

"Let me guess... it's because of my sister and Gen, right?"

"Right." She sighed. "But like I said, it's not a big deal."

"Why don't they go back toherplace?"

"We don't know."

Even though I was beyond relieved to know nothing was going on with that Amir guy, now a wave of new anger surged through my veins... anger at my sister for making her roommate sleep in some unlocked study lounge in a fucking chair, for Christ's sake.

How safe was that? And how well could you really sleep in a chair? How was she supposed to concentrate in class after a sleepless night like that?

Sky interrupted my thoughts. "You're mad, aren't you?"
