Did I look like total shit right now? I hadn't combed my hair, washed my face, or even brushed my teeth yet. I mean, I was still wearing my outfit from last night. Not exactly my best self at the moment.

But looking at him, searching his eyes as Kara babbled on, I didn't see anything judgy, nothing critical. What I did find there, though? I was shocked to notice a light in his beautiful green eyes that I hadn't seen there before.

And it was blowing me away, doing something inside me that I couldn't name as we stared at each other. I smiled at him, and the beautiful smile he gave me back took my breath away.

Putting down her empty bowl on the coffee table with a loud clank, Kara finally stopped talking and stood up to go to her dresser. "So I'm going to get in the shower while you two do whatever," she said, grabbing some clothes and heading for the bathroom.

Not taking his eyes off me, Kieran said, "Have a good day, Beavis. I've got to go soon."

"Bye, Butthead," she said, laughing as she closed the bathroom door behind her.

We were both quiet, still staring at each other, and I couldn't help noticing once again how handsome this guy was, his hair all sexily disheveled, the stubble on his strong jaw and chin.

"What are you thinking?" he asked, his voice deep.

Grinning, I debated whether to tell him the truth or not. "You really want to know?"

"More than anything."

I thought about that for a second. "I'll make a deal, Mr. Law School."

Laughing, he said, "I feel like I'm about to get swindled."

"Nah, not really," I said with a giggle. "I'll tell you what I was thinking if you tell me whatyouwere thinking."

He nodded, letting out a whoosh of air, still smiling. "Okay. That's not too bad. It's a deal. But you first."

Loving the light and laughter in his eyes, I said, "I was just thinking how hot you are."

His eyes widened so much, it was like something out of a cartoon. "You think I look hot?"

"I don't think so. I know so." His cheeks flushed a little, the palest pink, and it was the cutest thing ever. "So what wereyouthinking?"

He wiped his hands on his jeans and took a deep breath. "I was... I was thinking about last night."

A tingle shot through my whole body at those words. "Oh, yeah? What about last night?" I asked, wanting to knowexactlywhat was on his mind.

"Um, um," he stammered, that pink in his cheeks growing brighter.

God, I just couldn't resist him and teasing him a little. "So, Kieran, baby, which part of last night specifically are you thinking about because, you know, I might need to know for future reference."

He gulped and now the pink turned red. "I... I think you know what part I'm referring to, and for future reference, yes, I liked all of it—all of it—immensely."

Finding his discomfortimmenselycute, I licked my lips suggestively.

"Christ, Sky," he exclaimed, jumping up and adjusting his jeans. "I have to meet one of my professors soon."

I couldn't help laughing and feeling a little guilty as I stood up too. "Sorry about that."

Closing the distance between us, he grabbed me tight against him. "Don't be sorry," he said, heated eyes looking down at me. "I hate leaving you. I feel like we're just getting started."

"I can't wait until this whole election is over," I admitted.

"Me too. I just want to be with you."

Those words turned me into a gushy mess, and then when his lips brushed against mine in a sweet, barely-there kiss, I melted even more. His hands squeezed my arms, holding me like he never wanted to let me go as his lips began to demand more, tasting me, teasing me. Moving a hand to the back of my neck, he applied more pressure, kissing me deeply, with such passion, I almost couldn't stand up.

I had never in my life wanted someone so much, and I couldn't even imagine what it would be like to have him inside me. Cursing roommates and the timing of everything, I wished to the universe that our days apart would fly by quickly so I could finally do everything I wanted to do with Kieran.
