Fuck my fears. I would have a part of him tonight.
The suit he wore molded to his body nicely.
Chuckles sounded around me as Wreck stood in front of my exit. “Not yet,” he clipped over his shoulder at me.
“Wait, what?”
“What time will you have West home?” Wreck demanded harshly. Adrik just glared back at him.
“Dear God,” Lucas groaned and moved around me to place his hands on Wreck’s waist. “Wade, West is staying at Adrik’s tonight.”
“I didn’t agree with this,” Wreck stated.
“See, I knew staying long enough would be entertaining,” Kylo said. Saint agreed with a chuckle.
Oh, heavens above. Wreck acted like… like he was my father.
My throat thickened.
“I don’t like it,” Wreck grumbled.
“Thankfully, West is old enough to make up his own mind,” Lucas said.
“Enough,” Adrik bit out. “I have lived here for a few weeks—”
“And I didn’t like that either,” Wreck sneered.
Adrik snarled, “West is coming. I will protect him. Your small brain knows that, at least.”
Wreck actually growled under his breath. Kylo and Saint just laughed some more.
“All right,” I called. I shifted around Lucas and Wreck and stared up at the big man. “I appreciate your concern. I really do, but I’m going out with Adrik.”
Wreck’s jaw clenched. “Fine. But call if you need us.” He glanced over my shoulder. “I’d be happy to kick his ass if he does something you don’t like.”
“Oh my God, please stop,” I begged, and before I lost my nerve, I swept in and hugged Wreck quickly before facing Adrik. I didn’t want to see Wreck’s shocked gaze. I smiled softly. “Ready?”
“Da, moya lyubov’.” His hand shot out and took my bag for me before it came out once more for my hand.
“Have a good night,” Lucas called.
“I am sure we will,” Adrik replied, his tone tighter than usual as he stared down at me. Heat hit my cheeks, and when we started down the path, I tripped on nothing. It was lucky Adrik was there to catch me. Laughter started behind us, and I sent the middle finger over my shoulder.
“Dimitri’s coming?”
“Da. As he puts it, he is my head of security; I do not move without him knowing. He will watch over us.”
A shiver swept over my body. “Are you expecting trouble?”
We stopped at the passenger side to Adrik’s car. I waved to Dimitri in his own vehicle, which he returned. I glanced back to the house to see the others had gone back inside. But then Adrik’s hand cupped my cheek. I faced him, tipping my head back in time to have his mouth on mine.
“There will be no trouble. Dimitri is just a… what do you say, worrywart?”
I grinned. “That’s it.”
“I am businessman. I have people wanting attention. The security keeps them at bay.”
“Okay.”
