Bit by bit she relaxed in his arms.
“She likes that,” Salem noted.
Alexei nodded. “I’ve used it before when she’s woken up and couldn’t go back to sleep. Thought it might help in this situation too.”
“A nightmare?”
He hadn’t thought so at the time, but now he wondered.
How many nightmares did she have?
And how often did she hide them from them?
That wasn’t acceptable.
He kissed the top of her head. “She’s still too light.”
“I know. Roman was looking into supplements.”
“I can hear you guys, you know,” she said. “And I don’t need supplements.”
“You’ll take them if Roman decides you need them,” he told her sternly. “I’ll put them in a baby bottle and feed them to you if I have to.”
Salem sent him a look, but he didn’t care.
She was theirs.
And that meant taking care of her when she wouldn’t look after herself.
He might be a bulldozer, but he was her bulldozer.
“You’re so bossy.”
“You like bossy.”
“Do I?” She leaned back to look up at him. He kept her supported so she didn’t fall.
He’d never allow that.
“Yep. You do. Otherwise why would you want me to kiss you?”
“Who said I wanted you to kiss me?” She gave him a suspicious look.
"That would be me." Bending, he brushed his lips against hers. Then again.
Her lips parted beneath his and he slid his tongue into her mouth.
God. She tasted amazing.
When he drew back, he gazed down at her. “Now, tell me you don’t want to kiss me.”
She narrowed her gaze at him and he raised an eyebrow.
“That ego is going to make your head even bigger than it already is and you already have trouble fitting through the door.”
Cheeky brat.
Alexei grinned down at her. “You love my ego.”
