She looked at him with tears in her eyes but a smile on her face. “For me, too.”

Epilogue

Dominik walked through the door to his house to hear what sounded like a party in his backyard. He walked to the slider door and saw his beautiful wife of five years and their three adopted children: one girl and two boys. There were also a few other kids he recognized as his children’s friends, and they were all playing football.

After they got back from their wedding in Vegas, they went to see a gynecologist specialist to see if it would be dangerous for her to carry and give birth to a child. The doctor had done several tests, one of them being a special ultrasound, and found her pelvis was too small to carry a large baby. He had thought she would be upset, but when he asked her, she just smiled.

Tessa shook her head. “Not really. I think with our childhoods, we’re the best people to adopt the kids no one wants.”

Within a few weeks, they had a foster child, and if things worked out, they could adopt the boy. He had become a part of his family easily, and Dominik could tell Tommy, the first child, was so grateful to finally have a home and family of his own.

He’d been in the system for eleven years since he was a baby because of an issue with his spine. After seeing a specialist, the doctor decided the boy had grown out of whatever issue the foster system thought he had.

Tessa and he talked about the fact that everything could have been normal this whole time, but no one took the time to get him checked.

The other two had fallen onto their laps and had easily become part of the family.

Dominik walked outside and over to his wife, who was grilling hamburgers. She jumped when he wrapped an armaround her waist.

“You scared me,” she said and frowned at him over her shoulder.

“I’m sorry.” He tried his best not to smile.

Tessa’s eyes narrowed. “Really?”

He nodded. “Sure.”

She snorted but turned in his arms and raised her face for a kiss.

Like every other time they touched, they couldn’t get enough of each other. The hooting and hollering of the children got their attention. He chuckled when he saw the blush on Tessa’s face.

“It’s okay for them to see us kiss, Angel.”

She tapped his arm. “Yes, but I could feel your hand inch down to my ass.”

“It’s a habit.”

She rolled her eyes and handed him the spatula. “Here, grill the meat while I go in and make a salad.”

He pressed a quick kiss to her forehead and turned to the grill.

“Oh, by the way…” she said.

He knew what was coming before she could say it.

“The counselor at the orphanage has a child she thinks needs us,” Tessa said.

He looked at her and sighed. “I’m going to have to add onto the house, aren’t I?” They had already taken all the bedrooms with their three kids, and they didn’t want them to have to share.

She smiled sweetly. “Yes. That would be wonderful.”

Before he could say anything, she turned and walked into the house, and one of the boys yelled at him.

“Dad, come and throw the ball with us.”

Every time he heard them call him “Dad,” his heartmelted. He knew there would be more, and he didn’t mind adopting other kids. He and his wife were loving, had enough money, and understood them better than anyone, and they both had enough love for several more.

He’d have to make up additional plans and get his guys on it. He was thinking of three more bedrooms. Scratch that. He knew his wife well. He’d build six new rooms with three more bathrooms. Hell, he could always add on later if the family grew. He just hoped she’d stop at eight, but that probably wouldn’t happen.
