Anticipation shivered through me, from the pointy ends of my horns right to my toes.
The bloody enforcer confused the hell out of me, but I didn’t have the brainpower to overthink his words right now. Not when more heat lashed my insides.
I rubbed my thighs together, trying to ease that ache between them.
He groaned, running his nose along my neck. “Your scent is fucking irresistible. You’re in heat, sweetness. Something must have triggered you when you came through the portal.”
His deep inhales tickled the sensitive skin, and I moaned, trying to burrow closer even though he already had me trapped against his front.
His hand stroked along my spine, aiming to soothe. But nothing would except all of him.
“Killian,” I hissed, my tone a demand.
A wolf whistle sliced through the moment. Killian jerked his head up, a threatening growl rumbling from his lips, peeled back to bare vicious fangs.
Terror slid down my spine before the heat burned through it.
A handful of roughened demons stalked through the alley towards us.
I knew I should be afraid, but the heat devoured any logic. I wanted Killian to tear them apart and then fuck me, covered in the evidence of his strength and dominance.
Primal lust hazed my thoughts.
I’d be side-eyeing myself if I could think straight.
Two identical male blood demons led the pack, with their telltale grey skin and red horns.
“That’s a lush treat you have there,” the one on the left said, forked tongue slobbering over his lower lip.
“Yes indeed. She smells positivelyripe.” His twin snickered.
I wanted to gag. But as a horny idiot in heat, I also wanted him to think of me as a fertile female in her prime. A desirable mate.
Killian’s hand tightened on my hip, and his pitch-black wings flared on either side of me in an intimidating display.
“She’s mine.” He bristled with barely leashed violence but grinned manically wide. “Leave. Now.”
The “or else” was an unspoken threat that had danger spiking through the night. Tension suffocated the alleyway, thickening the cold air.
My core fluttered at the possessive edge in Killian’s voice, even as the sane part of me, buried way down, recognised that my pheromones were driving him almost as much as me right now.
“How’s one weak mutt going to stop us taking what we want?” the eerie twin on the left mused. “I’ll drain you dry, then your slut can drain my balls.”
His other half snorted as if to punctuate their mocking.
Killian laughed, his unhinged cackle ricocheting off the brick walls. “Well, my pretty princessdoesdeserve more birthday gifts.”
Chapter 29
Killian grinned at me over his wing arch. “Run, sweetness. I’ll catch up with your new presents in just a sec.”
My mouth parted at his arrogance, but I couldn’t help the moan that slipped free at how fires-damned attractive it was.
Moonlight bathed the demon, highlighting the sharp tips of his textured bone-white horns and the wild grin slashing through his handsome features. His black wings flared in challenge, bleeding smoke to blend into the night, claws flexed readily at his sides.
He was chaos incarnate.
A fallen angel of lore.
