Ofhimbetween my thighs.

A furious blush warmed my cheeks.

His frown melted, leaving a roguish smirk armed and ready. “This wasn’t the first time I’ve been around a succubus in heat, Princess.”

The reminder of his incubus lifestyle churned my stomach. He was a few years older than me and had apparently lived avaried, full life while I’d cloistered myself away, working on my healing magic and pining after an off-limits enforcer.

I cocked a brow, forcing myself not to spiral at those words. “I’m sure it’s not,” I drawled. “How very…experiencedof you.”

He chuckled, smooth and rich. “Oh, sweetness, don’t be jealous. I’ve never knotted or tried to breed anyone but you.” His forked tongue darted out, a quick swipe along my jaw. “Yours is the only pretty pussy I’m desperate to overflow.”

My brows shot up. He was serious? The psycho was actually trying tobreedme.

“You’re insane,” I whispered, but damn if a part of me wasn’t sucker punched at the thought of carrying his young. Of starting a family with him.

The idea of him holding a baby was making me all broody, and I needed to slap some sense back into myself. I was here on a mission to stop my evil magic hurting people. There was no way I could responsibly have a kid right now.

Maybe not ever.

And especially with a demon whose mixed signals made me want to claw his face off.

His chuckle darkened into a sharp laugh. “Of course.” He inclined his head. “But that doesn’t mean I don’t crave you.”

My eyes narrowed to slits. “And yet back at that house party…you told Zahara we weren’t even friends.”

His voice dropped to a low rasp, his eyes dipping to my pouting lips before slowly trailing back up. “Because, you and I? We could never just be friends.”

I had no idea what to say to that. My thoughts spun in useless circles, reading into every little thing he’d said to me.

But really, I was being selfish. I’d left him behind to keep him safe.

I had no right to keep inflicting pain on him, no matter what he thought about last night.

“I…should go. I have to fix my magic,” I said, unable to hold his gaze any longer. “Before I hurt anyone else.”

“Weshould go, you mean.” His focus locked on my lips like he was ready to devour, not get dressed. “Or are you planning to poison me again, little witch?”

I knew this was coming, yet all the reasons I’d left him behind were still perfectly valid, despite the guilt I felt at abandoning him.

“Killian.” I fixed him with my serious glare, only slightly ruined by the fact I was naked and leaking his cum. “You have to go back. It doesn’t matter what Rex told you to do.”

His voice pitched low. “Your uncle didn’t send me.”

“What? Then why…?” I trailed off, swallowing the rest of my question. It didn’t matter. “The kingdom needs you.”

His demonic smile hardened, sharp enough to slice. “What about what I need?”

My argument died on my lips, beaten down by more mixed messages and confusing signals.

The bastard was going to have me over-analysing every damn word he said. Every expression on his handsome, stupid face.

“I’m coming with you. Your safety is my priority,” he said.

I barely suppressed the urge to roll my eyes. More at me than him.

“Of course it is,” I muttered, shifting my head higher on the pillow.

“Oh no, a handsome incubus wants to keep me safe. My life isruined.” His voice took on a high-pitched whiny quality that was somehow meant to be me.
